Brooklyn, NY 300
Bought myself the 300 for my birthday on monday, love it, I already put over 100 miles on it though, I will say, im already in need for more power, never rode a bike in my life until monday lol, I joined another forum that I just hated, not any bit welcoming at all what so ever, I do hope this site is better .. anybody from new york ?

The learning curve on these bikes is pretty fast. A rider with amazing talent can conquer the limits within 100 miles. I would think the next step would be MotoGP.

Were they not welcoming, or were you not accepting of their advice that you dont need more power?

This forum is full of super friendly very helpful people. Careful with that more power talk though haha Serious 250 loyalists in this boat! Ive had a blast on the 300 and I think it is excellent for Brooklyn Greater NY area traffic. Ridding bigger bikes around there is torture cause you are always waiting at lights and pulling the clutch. You never get out of 3rd gear and it is basically ball sweat depressing. The ninja300 will kill it up in the mountains. I have some friends who ride Bear mountain and all that area. They are all into their Liter bikes and protein shakes though so …. Nothing against either of those things… But some people just love to razz on the Ninjette riders. Welcome to the FOrum.

Lol guys, im not attacking the bike or the riders, every individual has their own opinion, speaking for myself and my personal preference, I want more power, the 300 is fantastic, and on the other forum I didnt even mention wanting more power. If anyone is nearby lets ride out! I dont know any friends who have bikes !

At least parking will be a lot easier. **** parking a car in Brooklyn. I've probably gotten ticketed more times than not. And if you want twisties, you're gonna have to toll out and make a weekend of it. Oi. I do not envy you.

Welcome aboard. At the moment, I'm not on the right coast to go riding with you, but I have to throw out a quick note: I go on a weekly group ride quite regularly. On that ride, there are several kinds of bikes: vintage and modern Ducatis & BMWs, KTMs, Moto Guzzis, Triumphs, CBRs of varying displacements, and even an MV Agusta, just for starters. You get the idea. I've had tons of people on the ride consistently bug me to trade, or let them ride the Ninja 250. The number asking goes way up on weekend rides when we hit the twisties. Keep in mind, these are experienced riders on expensive bikes.
Just some food for thought. Sure, you may want more bike, but I'd hold onto the 300 for future use. |

Ive alreqdy gotten tickets on my bike so far, not happy about it, but riding is great so I dont care, it balances out because my car always gets window tint tickets.
Also once this bike is pqid off, hopefully by september, I want to finance a honda shadow. |

Good stuff, dude. Stinks about the tickets, but nice on aiming to add to the stable. I can't fault you there. My buddies know I drool over their bikes all the time. One of these days, I'm swapping with a buddy to ride her Monster, then another couple who have KTM supermotos, and a Street Triple.

Aw, man, that sucks! Be careful and hang in there. I lost two of the bolts that hold my license plate on, going through some bumpy roads that were stripped for resurfacing, but I tightened the remaining two, and they seem to be holding just fine. I do plan on throwing a couple more bolts on though, just to be on the safe side. DMV/local PD got me for something similar on my car. I guess they were doing the neighborhood, because a couple cars down the street had the tickets in their windows, too. I had paid the registration way back, but never received the sticker, and apparently the post office delivered it to the wrong address. =/ I explained that to them when they ticketed me for not having a current sticker, but they said there was nothing they could do, unless I proved to them that I did have the sticker on the car, in which case they could reduce the fine.

I like the 300 - black is a good color. What is all the smoke behind you in that one photo? did it come with the bat mobile options?
smoke screen, oil slick, rocket power !!!! I literally googled motorcycle crash wearing sneakers first pic that comes up is raw meat where a sneaker used to be wrapped around a foot. that being said… I am a hypocrite. I was ridding in leather nike sneakers yesterday. I need to order some new boots for this hot weather - mental note…. no more gory injury pics - Please people keep your feet. you don't want to end up the subject of one of my disturbing google searches
