The crazy brit is back again!

...and I still think he looks like Hugh Jackman.

Guy Martin is taking on the Pikes Peak hill climb this year. His ride? A custom turbocharged 1991 GSXR1100

Here's a post from STG featuring the bike and giving some more info. Looks like the event will be broadcast live online for free. Check it out if you have spare time!

Hmm, somehow I get the feeling that guy can win on this bike. I don't know why but he's definitely enough of a nutter to push the pikes peak climb farther than the vast majority of people on any bike.

Compared to the IOM TT he may even find it boring lol

He's a nut. But he's a very successfully fast nut. If you watch some of his adventures into mountain biking with Steve Peat, he's pretty damn quick on anything with 2 wheels.

yes, but I still find that cheating. He rode behind a car with a big tunnel fairing off the back. So while he physically WAS powering himself, he was not fighting wind resistance appreciably. He was only overcoming friction and any slight changes in elevation.

Still very badass.

1991 Gsxr . Even turbo charged I imagine the elevation changes will effect the carburetors. Huge disadvantage I would think ?

So probably not going to break the records

Nice bike and crazy rider- cant write him off

They got to meet him? Badass!!! He's super hard to understand on YouTube.

It might be fuel injected? Idk if it's carb'd or not.

I hear that Pike's Peak is all paved road now... That was really disappointing to me.

yea, it was a lot more of an intense challenge when you had to have a supermoto to navigate the course. I don't like the change but can completely understand why it was done

Guy Martin won his class with this Frankenbike, but was way off the top bikes overall (he was 24th).

biggest thing I learned from that article was how low the fatality rate is in the pikes peak hillclimb.

My first introduction to the race was learning about some insane dodge viper crash that happened a few years back so I expected it to be more like a mini IOM TT in the danger aspect
