Some pictures of streetbike version of Ninja 250 Mono: Z 250 SL.
Rest of the pictures can be seen here. This bike use the same motor as Ninja 250 Mono /Ninja 250 SL, which use the KLX 250 motor with modified camshaft profile and new gearbox. Here is the link of the bike intro at Kawasaki Motorcycle Global website. And here is the link for official Ninja 250 Mono global intro. Bonus: YZF R-25 spyshoots

There's an article about these bikes at visordown.com and other sites. They aren't sure whether this bike will come to Europe, as the thinking is that it would compete with the Ninja 300.
Personally I think the Ninja 300 is a great bike but is priced a bit high, and that there's room for a 'budget' Ninja if the price is significantly lower.

Hawt..... that looks super fun. Looks terrible for a passenger though, with that super high seat.

Here both bikes are meant to undercut the CBR 250 price (and CBR 150). CBR 250 is priced around $4300 for non ABS version. Ninja 250 FI is priced at $4600. The CBR 150 priced at 3500.
The thumper ninja and Z priced at 3350 and 3450 respectively. They wont discount ninja 250 price as it's already sold out as it is, and it will hurt the resell price (a factor of customer here). They know honda doesnt make money here with the CBR, as most of their sales are 110-125 scooters and underbone bikes, and cheap 150-200 air cooled standards (most people think it's premium, me as well). While kawasaki has been specialised for selling sportbike this recent 5 years. This is basically a saying from kawasaki to honda, fvck off of my market and go back selling scooters. But then i welcome competition, and waiting for Honda answer. Yamie here already tries to enter the market by releasing yzf r-15 and soon r-25. With stronger aftersales service and sparepart support, both are serious threats for kawak should they intent to seriously dominate the market. Here people is not used to work on their own vehicle. We just dont have enough spare time, with saturday is half day work, and normal working hour from 8 to 5. Many is just too afraid to hold a screwdriver or a wrench. And most is not used to buying online. That,s why a readily available service shop and and spare part shop is a must.

I really like how the frame looks! That's the main thing that bugs me about the EX250L/EX300:
I like the fake frame design in the fairings just like I like the fake fork tube protector design of the front fender (shaped as if it is protecting exposed USD fork tubes), but the small/weak subframe is too visible/exposed. The passenger pegs and exhaust holder covered that part of the frame and added bulk to the exposed portions on the EX250J/K, which somewhat disguised how dinky it was. |

New Ninja 250 Design - Single Cylinder Naked
http://www.cycleworld.com/2014/06/17...ja-motorcycle/
Just saw this. Looks cool enough but it's single so not really that interesting. Now if they would announce a 400cc ninja triple THAT would be cool. (no need to say that will never happen)

if i remember right they used a 3 cyl because the 4 cyl had cooling issues between the two center cylinders because of the frame tubes in front of them causing air turbulence over the cooling fins (because it was aircooled back then) they later switched to a 4 cylinder and then a 4 stroke and then oil cooling and then water cooling

Going fast is cool, but accelerating from a stop is too.

just because the power is up high doesn't mean you can't accelerate from stop, you just gotta show her who is boss, work them magic fingers on the clutch a bit and wring her little neck BRAAAAPPPP!

So is there any sort of official word that Kawasaki is going to bring these 250 Monos to North America? For 25 years Kawasaki has been the undisputed king of the "entry level" market with the Ninja 250. The 300 is, what, 5000 bucks plus taxes and dealer - and that's without ABS. I can see that there is definitely a place for a cheaper "beginner" Ninja if they can bring in a mono 250 for say $3500-$4000.

as far as the Japanese bikes in the budget small displacement world are concerned, looks, cost and what color (make) it is are 99% of what matters, you aren't really buying these bikes for "high performance" so yeah pretty much a better looking cbr... and it comes in green
However if team blue had made this bike it might be getting even more buzz oh the little things
