What is your favorite/most used tool in your toolbox?

What is your go to? When everything is on the fritz what is your first move?

For me, it's electric tape. That **** does everything! Automotive, wiring, home improvement, you name it. I know some of you are thinking "What about duct tape, moron?", but I gotta say electric tape is the unsung hero in my garage.

My vintage "Spammer" by Colquhoun & Cadman

Spanner, Clamp and Hammer in one. I used it for ages before I found out how old it was

(well over 100 years)

Another "tool" in my box Is a half dollar coin
Used in mole grips for the alternator cover plug

4" hand-held electric angle grinder.

you can literally remove anything you want with it. especially things not meant to be removed.

My 12mm ratcheting wrench. That thing has moved more bolts on my 89 Yota than any other tool. Add on a 10, 14, and 18 and you can nearly take apart the entire engine!

Wow, this is surprisingly difficult to answer. I don't think I can choose just one.

Up near the top (for working on the bike, anyway) it'd be:

- The set of extra-long Allen keys I got at Performance Bike
- Sears Digitork torque wrench, mid-80s vintage (and they still make it!)
- Ratchet

Coolest thing I own? It's not a tool. It's my rolling toolbox. Room for almost everything and it's all easy to find.

My set of impact sockets. After breaking four sockets on a stuck bolt(they just sort of cracked around it) I finally shelled out the money for a set and it was very very worth it.

And my harbor freight digital caliper. It was on sale for about 7 bucks and it's awesome.

I actually have a real Crescent wrench... "adjustable spanner wrench" made by the Crescent tool company of Jamestown, N.Y.

It's a hammer, a pry bar, a nut/bolt remover, and it fits in my back pocket when not in use.

For a real answer, not really a tool, more a tool kit. Was looking for something small to carry in my tool roll and found a mini kit near the counter that had a small handle with a variety of tips that included several Phillips and Allen bits. That one little kit came with almost everything to take my entire bike apart except for the major stuff like the axle and front sprocket bolt.

It lives in my bike now and has worked very well for numerous parking lot repairs.

I agree with this.....I could take apart my Acura, Honda, & Kawasaki with those sizes.

After that.....my ratcheting screwdriver with multiple bits.
