What settings are your adjustable brake/clutch levers set to?

Just curious...for those with adjustable brake/clutch levers, which settings did you set them to? Of course there's no right or wrong answer. All personal preference.

I purchased mine from "the2wheels" on eBay. Comes with 6 settings.

Six settings.

Five ( the higher the farther it is ) brake
Six Clutch

I feel like if its too close i cant apply brakes fully and the clutch will engage too early.

Crap levers.

Mine are set so the levers are the closest to the grip. Any further and I feel like I'm having to reach to grab them.

My clutch is stock(shorties coming soon) and I took the ball of of the brake lever when I crashed so I just cut it short enough to use with two fingers easily. Beats crushing my pinky like the stock ones did

Are these what you purchased? If so, how do you like them? I have small hands, so I was thinking they might fit me better adjusted close.

Nope. I purchased the Ninja 300 versions from the same eBay seller. But they look identical. Just make sure you purchase the ones that will fit your bike.

Here are the ones I purchased (in case you want to compare pictures to ones you've linked): http://www.ebay.com/itm/291162247988...84.m1497.l2649

I got the short version. So far, I really like them a lot. It took about an hour for me to get used to them since I set them to be just a tad closer than the OEM levers. I had to re-learn where the friction zone was after installing.

If you have small hands, they should work out much better for you. My hands are probably a tad below average sized and I set my clutch to 5 (1 is closest to handle bar and 6 is furthest away) and my brakes to 4. I tried setting the clutch closer (to 3), but it just felt so weird that the friction zone was so close to the handlebars. I just couldn't get used to it.

I had no issues with the OEM levers. I didn't feel like I had to really reach out there to get to them. But if I had a choice, I would like them a few mm closer...and these levers do the trick.

Quality wise, they seem very well made! I didn't expect this quality for something that cost only $36.

Just a little warning to those about to buy adjustable levers-- be careful when buying the levers with the dial (round) type adjusters. I bought the round dial type for my Sv and had them set to the #6 max distance setting, The dial uses little steps on the dial to push the lever out, and while braking into turn #1 from 120 mph the lever "auto adjusted" from #6 directly to setting #1:eek:. I nearly s*&^ my pants! The brakes went from strong to gone for half a second then i had much less lever travel-- all while approaching a turn too fast! The brakes still worked but I was not able to keep the same amount of pressure on the lever. Not all the Dial type have this issue but I just wanted too let folks know what could happen with this type of adjuster. Had I been doing an emergency stop behind a car this would have caused a crash, fortunately I was at the track with extra run off (and since I am still slow) I had room to react!

I'm at C6 and B3. I had my clutch set at 1 for a while, I liked how it engaged but it felt like I was always riding the clutch (not fully engaged)

2 and 2 for me. and i have full length levers, didn't like the shortys to much.

With them on 2 i can operate the levers with my index and middle fingers without pinching the ring and pinky still on the grip.

I've got shorties on mine, and both clutch and brake are set to 3.. Like Alex said, it's a matter of personal preference as well as individual needs.. Those with longer fingers will most likely not want the same settings as someone with short finger and small hands..

But what's interesting is that since most people have similar sized right & left hands, they set their right & left levers to a different setting.

Settings are what they are... all depends on hand size so pointless to even note them.

Re choices...

I just bought a pair of levers from a regular at BandofRiders.net. He's local to me and has set up a small side business to help support his racing:

http://www.434racer.com

Price very low (like about $50 for the pair), he uses them himself and several of the BoRN members said good things, so I went for it. Have yet to ride with them but very impressed with the evident quality.

I went shorty brake, regular clutch because I find myself automatically covering the brake with two fingers and always using four to pull the clutch. I expect this will make braking easier since I have small hands and ran into the tradeoff between reaching the lever and trapping my ring and little finger when pulling. Now I can set the lever closer and pull it fully with ease.

I have big hands and since having adjustable levers, hand fatigue is much less than before.

I find as my pads are more worn, I need more lever pull to stop. So I re-adjust my brake accordingly. But since I use 2 fingers for both levers, I tend to favor my brake lever to reach out further. This way, if I ever need to stop quickly I will not get in a situation where my ring and pinky fingers are blocking the lever from being pulled in.

I can honk on my brake lever with everything I've got and it still doesn't meet the grip. How are you guys trapping fingers with it?

Chinese eBay shorties (the2wheels style). I have both set at 5. That's where they feel the best throughout the range of movement - not too close or far at either end. I wear XXL gloves.
