Oh, lol thanks.. I'll pick some up next time, would of saved me $10

Yesterday I got something in the mail...

Man, they look good too! Way nicer than my old one's Amy had and they're a lot cheaper.

I also got my spools today! What a PAIN IN THE A! to get these in, So much grease... ugh, I didn't cross thread either. Only $12, now I plan on getting a pitbull rear stand!

Bike is looking good. Those spools seem like they should have some kind of cap or slider on them? I am surprised the head of the bolt is not countersunk/recessed?

Levers are nice. Look similar to the set I have.

One piece at a time and it will all add up.

I got my rear stand when a guy left one at my old work and never came back for it. It seems to be a nice brand too. All aluminum. It was made for a different bike,. I tweaked it to fit

Thanks,

you're absolutely right, I installed them completely wrong, lmao.

It came with no directions and I was in a rush to get em' on. I'll fix them tomorrow. They have a slider, right?

Wow! You've been riding a lot. I'm almost embarrassed to say that I only just hit 500 miles on mine 2 days ago.

Pitbull stands are great. You only have to buy stands once in your life, they are that overbuilt and nice. A high quality US made product for sure. I have a front and rear, but I want a second set so both bikes are off the ground.

I don't mind at all, they arrived after 2 weeks, which is way sooner than they claim they will arrive, I think they only give it a high estimated ship date to cover their asses, no worries though, you'll receive these soon after you buy!

Btw, this is my 1,000th post, I found it only fitting to do it on my 300 thread, And in honor of my 1,000th post I will be naming my 300. The new name is...... Kathryn (kat for short). So, Kat is her name!

Thanks everyone for being such a great community, I've gone through a lot in the last ~5 months, I went from owning an old 11 year old 250 with carb issues to a beautiful green newgen that I worked on myself. Now I have Kat, my 300. I have learned so much about carbs, chains, sprockets, clutches, etc. I went from never driving a manual car to leaning how to ride a 6 speed motorcycle. I've also for the first, have done my own maintenance and mods.

I'm not sure what caused me to start having an interest in bikes, but one day I really wanted one and then eventually I stumbled upon the ninja 250 and it was so appealing to me how "easy to ride and learn on" the bike was.

Total I've put on about 4k miles across all my bikes and I plan to put so much more!

Thanks again everyone, such a great community!

Just bought some pitbull stands and pitbull spools. Ran me $180 for everything, but it was well worth it. You get what you pay for, and I got good quality!

Just bought a Carbon Fiber Musarri Slip-on exhaust. Ran me $250, but it arrived extremely fast and the bike sounds amazing! I noticed I lost a little mid range power, but I gained top end power. Weird... I'm going to eventually buy a juice box for her or power commander. I also lost a solid 15lbs weight reduction which is awesome! And the stock exhaust is ugly looking, this new one with the carbon fiber accents makes the bike look much sharper! Very happy with my purchase.

I have been thinking about getting a Musarri, couldn't find any pictures that showed it like I wanted them to. But you took perfect pictures just for me, how nice! I will defiantly be ordering one soon! Thanks bro!

No problem

The install was easy but can get confusing at times, hit me up if you get stuck.

Look at what came in the mail

Old filter with 1,500 miles on it:

New one with 0 miles on it

I can honestly say I've noticed a pick up in power, for sure! It's like whatever negative effects were caused from the slip on were negated! The bike for sure has more pep, very happy and recommend purchase to everyone.

On a side note: Since I installed my slip on I noticed my MPG increased from 65 to 67.

Looking good! Them mods came quick! I think next you need a dark smoke windscreen.

You plan on any type of fuel management now that you have an aftermarket filter? Think it's even needed?

Been wanting to get one for mine but not if I have to add fuel management.

Hahaha, I have the modding bug

I don't think it's needed at all, but I am in the market for a juice box just because I may go full exhaust and pod filters someday in the not so distant future.

No update, just posting about my day. I took the bike out and had a ton of fun, at first I was riding like a granny, going maybe 20-30 miles, going exactly the speed limit. Throughout the entire day I almost got hit by about 5-6 people coming out of driveways, etc. Luckily I am very alert and always have my hand ready to blast the horn and I cover my brakes and develop an exit strategy, So even though these have been "close calls" they haven't been actually "close calls" because I always had a plan to be alright even if the person did pull out. (the people kept slamming on their brakes half way through their turn lmao)

Anyway, I took my bike around... beautiful day 55 degrees (what a December!!!) went to the beach and just rode around.

On my way home I started getting a little throttle crazy, I was revving her up to pretty much the red line in 2-4th gear in the suburbs (dangerous, I know) but man oh man, this bike really can PULL!! I don't care what anyone says, the 300 is only slow in comparison to bigger bikes, but as for a machine it's self... it is pretty dang fast, fast enough for anything the streets have to offer.

I'm really dreading the day I winterize my bike

Well I installed a battery tender today (I know, I'm late...) and I saw on the battery that there was a note there..... it wrote: "EX300, Fun Delievery" Not sure what that means.... they probably beat on her while transporting her is my only guess... which is kinda a bad thing since I bought her with only 400 miles so she wasn't properly broken-in yet.

Huh? I haven't changed my mind yet. Just considering it depending if the track day falls through. I'm currently looking at some track suits and boots to buy then I need to get a trailer. I'm thinking about $1,000 I need to invest. Once I do that I want to take the 300 to the track and see what she's got.

If for whatever reason I decide it's not for me or I end up not going and the bike starts to collect dust then i'll probably sell. But we'll see. It's too soon to tell.

Yeah, I'm just putting out some feelers. Just in case. Between you and I it's not going to sell. No one seems to buy bikes on forums very often.

I've been crunching numbers now and think it might be cheaper to sell my bike and buy a track bike ninja 300 that already has the race plastics, rear sets, maybe clip ons, full exhaust, etc. I was going to surprise everyone with a build thread on that.

Good luck with sale. Did you put it back to stock or will you sell it with all the mods?

It's stock except for levers now. I'm not too worried if it doesn't sell. Although I feel like at the price I set it at (3500) it is a fair deal. I'll probably post up the Mussari exhaust, fender elliminator kit and K&N filter here in a couple weeks.

You know what's funny. I saw a ninja 250 newgen (I believe 09) that runs perfect and is in decent condition just no title. Guy is asking $900. It's almost worth it to run the VIN and then if it wasn't stolen just track that. But we'll see.. Everything is up in the air right now. The ninja 300 is a great bike and I think it would make a better track bike in general over the 250.

The ninja 300 is a great bike and I think it would make a better track bike in general over the 250.
not necessarily, the 250 has it's advantages. You can run track only tire combos that the 300 can't touch in terms of grip. We're talking superbike race rubber, double front tires.

I've been crunching numbers now and think it might be cheaper to sell my bike and buy a track bike ninja 300 that already has the race plastics, rear sets, maybe clip ons, full exhaust, etc. I was going to surprise everyone with a build thread on that.
you already have the bike, can sell the parts you replace and you think it would be better financially selling your bike and buying a race set up?

Again. I haven't made any decisions I'm sort of thinking out loud. This is precisely why I didn't want to announce anything to this forum.
