Nice bike. Get some experience riding
Dirt bikes are great for building endurance and getting reflexes dialed in !

Rip it and once you master it . Upgrade but that bike will keep you busy for a while

Nick, update the slow one please...

You don't have your licence right?
WILL you be getting it and then riding this on the street, or did your parents just let you buy a dirt bike so you can drive around your property?

Because I lost track =[

Me neither. I never knew dirt bikes have the start and kill switch on the left. So I wonder if the first time Nick gets on a street bike if he turns on the brights and honks the horn trying to start it.

Try a 1,000cc sled, the tunnel vision combined with everything being white tends to make things interesting.

I noticed that too. The choke is behind the front plastic piece. I'll laugh when I do that, and I'll do it on purpose if I remember.

MSF doesn't train on dirt bikes. At least not for the basic rider course. They MIGHT use enduros, which are street modified dirt bikes. But all of those I have seen have the starter on the right.

just remember nick. with dirt bikes especially... pin it to win it. rear tire sliding? pin it. front tire sliding? pin it. only exception is when your front wheel lifts up more than you want... in that case, pin it and use a little rear brake. though pinning it with the rear brake is helpful to control a rear wheel slide too, so.... yeah. just keep pinning it. especially with that little 140.

Um, so what does "pinning it" mean? The only thing I can think of would result in him getting a flat tire.

So, I found the friction zone! I found it when I got stuck in a pool of mud by the swamp where I was trying to do the picture challenge. I found it there, because I didn't want to spin my tire. So, now that I found it...I've started doing launches. It's like a whole new bike! I did a launch, where I did a burnout for 10 feet I'm impressed with myself. I can't wait until I have the balls to wheelie the bike lol

I'm looking at other pictures, and it seems like some bikes do and others don't. There aren't different models, so I don't understand.

That's weird...if you go to pic #9 it doesn't look like it's two toned. Maybe it's an option? I'd ask the dealership.

cr480? they had one of those? i suppose thats a dirtbike...im suprised it went that slow. on stock gearing on my 01 YZ250F i clocked it at 87 mph at its top speed. Man i loved that bike, rode it like a bat outa hell...then sold it to get my ninja. Hey nick, when you do upgrade to another dirt bike(if you do before you get a streetbike) i would definently reccomend buyin a used yz250f, super light and just awesome. its umm a little early to be suggesting things though, but i just thought id say it Now about your klx...i know its an awesome bike. i didnt have that one, but i did also have a 04 klx125 with a t-4 pipe on it and it sounded orgasmic...loved that bike too, bought it literally brand new for $900 Anyways, have fun on this thing, it wont let you down, even if you drive it as hard as you can, and be careful!

I wanted to upgrade to a four stroke fuel injected bike. Maybe a a CRF450X or 250X. Not sure which would be a better upgrade. But right now I'm just looking for good gear and tools to maintain my bike.

Maybe. Gear is my top priority right now. Want to get some good gear. Then maybe an exhaust, and some nice decals

The Juke is our current new car. My dad wants to get a used pick-up so that we don't put so many miles on our Juke. I'm supporting his pick-up plan because I want to go places on my dirt bike lol

I want to get some nice decals from decal works.

Instead of a pickup, I would steer him towards a Ninja 250. Pickups suck at gas mileage. A friend has an F250 and only gets about 15 mpg in town. He also has a smaller Izuzu truck that gets about 20 mpg. Compare that to a Ninja 250 pregen that gets 70 mpg.

As far as dirt bike gear, I know that the requirements are a lot simpler. Basically, just a helmet, goggles, long sleeve shirt (or no shirt depending on where you are riding), long pants or shorts, and gloves. Most dirt bikes I have seen have knuckle guards on the handlebars that protect your hands from limbs. I see your bike doesn't have them. You might want to add that to your list of future mods.
