Nasty handlebars...

so i have noticed when i ride my ninja without gloves my handle bars are leaving black **** on my palms. i would really like to fix this problem w/o having to buy new grips, anyone out there have a good idea on how to resolve this problem.

You might need to buy new grips, i think there is no way around it.

Rubber deteriorates over time. Some times soaking rubber in brake fluid"rubber conditioner " helps allow the rubber to soften and return to a flexible state.

I am not sure what would happen if you try this on your grips then clean them thoroughly .....

But replacement grips are like 8 bucks on eBay and amazon .....
So

Buy new grips or go to a motorcycle junk yard and pull some haha

Or snag a set of your neighbor's bicycle

The palms of my gloves are turning black because of the grip. So, I don't think this is a deterioration issue - I noticed it from the get go.

I've heard it's also great for chapped lips and dry scalp.

If your handgrips are from 2003, that material is simply disintegrating under the sustained punishment of UV radiation.
You could saw some fine leather over those, but it is some hand work involved in that.

I love BikeMaster foam grips: the best thing against vibration.

I have had mine for more than two years under rain and sun and are still perfect.

I believe that they are the same things.
