Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I've been reading the forums here and learning for quite a while now. Finally decided to register and hopefully add to the community.

I've been riding street bikes since 2006 and dirtbikes forever. My first streetbike was a 2000 R6. I absolutely loved that bike. It was such a sad day when I got rid of it, but I had to. My next bike was a 2005 Ninja 250. I basicaly bought that bike because someone made me a deal too good to pass up. I kept it for a while and ended up selling it to a friend, but it was a blast. Late last year I bought my current bike: a 2006 R6r Raven. Absolutely love this bike. Anyway, I've been looking for some time to pick up a late gen Ninja 250r to run as a track bike. Everything I've read has lead me to believe that a 250 would be the perfect track bike for me. No ridiculous hp to cover up sloppy riding means its all about carrying corner speed. That coupled with one of, if not the most economical track bike sounds like an absolute win for me. Hopefully I find the right bike soon, and maybe I'll see some of you at Gateway or other tracks. Also, if you know of a potential good 250 for me, don't hesitate to give me a heads up! THANKS!

Yeah! I just recently learned that they are starting a 250 class. That sounds awesome! Are there many 250s out at Gateway?

Dunno, I need to run gateway sometime soon, never been there. I heard decent sized grids for a startup. I will be at Putnam with them Apr. 20/21 for their very first 250 races. Without looking at their schedule again, I think most of their events will be at gateway.

Hey StL folks,

Anybody doing the Moonshine Lunch run this year? Its an annual event and is taking place this year on 13th April. Usually thousands of bikers attend.

Its ~160 miles from StL and I plan to attend if it does not rain.

From the website: Moonshine isn't a competition, but there are some records out there. In 2008, Pete Rogers from Oasis, British Columbia, rode 2,196 miles for a Moonburger, so far the longest distance ridden to Moonshine. (Here is a picture of Pete's bike on the way.) In 2011, 1600 motorcycles and 1800 people showed up over a rain−soaked morning and sunny afternoon, and 2068 Moonburgers were served. Those are all records, too.

Here's the website for the event: http://moonshine-run.com/Moonshine/Default.asp

Yes, interstate all the way. Only8-10 miles of local roads (not twisties).

STL does not have much twisties anyways. I was told that highway 79 to Louisiana, MO has twisties. I rode there today(~85 miles each way). B.S, I say. That road is pretty, but straight as an arrow
