I gave my neighbors 4.5lbs of brisket for their dinner. Old school Ky peeps known how to smoke some meat. I am still yet but a padawan compared to such experience. Tonight, we eat well.

Chone should have a video similar to this from our time at Mid-O, if he would ever post it.

Like with anything in life, it's what you make of your time that counts. It's nice to know that someone, somewhere out there is goofy like me.

I actually do miss riding the R6 a bit, but not to worry if this deal for a gixxer 600 track bike goes down I'll have one of my own to play with...well close to it at least, the r6 would be faster in the straight but not by much.

I really did like how much the bike felt like an extension of myself, I don't get that feeling on my 300 or 250 as they both feel slightly too small/off physically and I ride around that.

@Alex, some intersting info.

I googled the thread title, wow... spot #5 despite FFDP having a popular song named the same as the title of this thread.

Lol... fascinating how google ranks things.

@adouglas, you wanna throw something in the bag music wise for this video? I am still working on what my son and I have put together. I would love to have something from you to throw in the mix.

Geeezzz this will take some real time to edit down. I have about 80 or so 15-20min videos plus smaller vids to sew together into something watchable. Not to mention the easter eggs imma put in.

I have spending the evenings looking back through the pics I have taken over the years and I have realized... This years goals were not so different from what I have always done. I have always helped others, hauled them to the track and such. I have had 6 bikes on that trailer.

I sit back and thank my stars how things work out. It wasn't just but months ago I said something about roasting a pig for a party and some dirt action. And.... look what happens.

Like I have always said, things have a funny way of working themselves out.

So tomorrow is a big day for the Smith family. My son is taking his 1st mid-term for a 2nd degree black belt and I am finishing a near 3yr stent as a 2nd degree. If my son and I pass our tests, he will be on his way to 2nd degree and I will solidify my spot at the judges front table.

Why is this post here? Tomorrow we (my son and I) will shake nearly 100 hands. It will not matter if we pass of fail our own tests, we will shake them anyway as it's part of the training our instructor teaches. The people matter... and is part of personal growth.

I ask you all, to pick up my slack tomorrow as it will be a busy day helping the kids (about 30 of them), shake off the nerves before the tests. The teens and adults got a pretty good handle on things but I am also there for them as well.

I will try to get some video and pics too, but I am not allowed a camera while in uniform.

Good luck to all!

Good luck to both of you. I don't know much about karate but, if the test are like jujitsu its going to hurt.

I will be sore tomorrow, lol but so will my son. Lance is limping some and only bled a little but he is tough, he will live. Just like last year, we had to spar. It's a damn good thing we were told "no full contact" because we would be even more sore tomorrow and we both would have been bleeding.

The 7th degree judge that was beside me recognized a few of the kids for their hard work that showed during their testing. It's awesome to see 5-6yr olds spar and it not be a slap fight. They are like little warriors.

ps... we passed our tests, Lance is 1 of 3 tests away from a 2nd degree and I just earned my 3rd.

Lol, still sore in a few places, knees and shoulders. The tests are as close to the real thing as one could get without actually beating someone into the dirt. I guess I have to accept I am getting older now, my son is no longer sore.

ps... I am not looking forward to my next tests in years to come, multiple attackers, obstacles and even more pressure to perform "above the average" from my instructor (which is the hardest part).

Lol. My brother's test was 5 instructors and a few hours of hell. He doesn't remember it all, he had a concussion afterwards. It took him 3 days to get out of bed. That is American jujitsu black belt test. It is held behind closed doors.

So, it could be worst I want to learn

So I find myself at the hospital "just visiting" right, no worries. I step out of the room for a few mins so the nurses can do their work. Then... I see it! It says it an "evacuation chair" but I am calling BS. I now have seen one of the tools of a professional kidnapper.

Beautiful snake, but in KY? I never knew they lived in the area.

I like the evacuation chair, this could be helpful at the store with screaming kids
