i doubt that it can maintain 200 for more than a few minutes. but the ability to put out that much power is great. it should get pretty good milage otherwise... they say almost 200 miles on a charge so i think it is similar to the zero

500lbs with top of the line components. 180 mile range. "Exceptional practicality of electric motorcycles"
This "superbike" isnt even good for a track day without a spare bike to ride while charging. At 500 lbs, you might as well just put nitrous on a Harley and brag about the power and exceptional practicality of chrome. Electric may possibly get there in ten years or so, but not today.

That's my buddy Rob, the guy on the right / striped shirt in the top picture of that story. Early investor in the company, and still quite involved. I wish 'em success!

Dude. For real? 500lbs is not that heavy for a bike that's well set up and has the power to move it. And 180 miles is impressive. The idea that electric might be a possibility in ten years was appropriate when production electric bikes were stretching for 60 miles on a charge. But this is a bike that will make an R1 feel like a middleweight and can go as far on a 'tank' as any bike I've owned. This is one hell of an achievement. I'm positive I'll own an electric bike before the next 10 years is up. |

Battery swap stations would be just as fast. The limiting factor is not tech it is infrastructure and that is coming fast. Premium price for top of the line cutting edge tech. That bike beat EVERY bike up Pikes Pike 2013 |

You make valid points. I've been wrong more than once. I'm not convinced, but I am far from an expert.
If I had that kind of cash, I would like the bike for the cool factor. Anybody can spend 40 grand on a traditional bike, but the electric bike has style.
