New Rider in Lafayette, Louisiana

Hi all,

My name is Nick and I just picked up my first bike a month or so ago, an 04 Ninja 250. I have been reading on this forum since before I purchased the bike, but just registered today. I look forward to learning a lot more from ya'll and hopefully meet some local riders.

No i have yet to take it. I am waiting for the schedule to post up for the January class. I got my license about a week or so after I got the bike. A friend of mine just went home to Florida and took the MSF course and got his license and highly recommended taking it ASAP

Here in Florida it is mandatory; I don't know about Louisiana.

If you don't have previous experience with motorcycles, it is the best thing that you can do.

At the MSF website you can find the text book and more useful information.

If tempted to ride before taking the course, be very careful and avoid heavy traffic and night and rain.

Get familiar with stopping safely and quickly, before anything else.

Hello and welcome to the forums. I'm from the Baton Rouge area and have quite a few friends in the area as well as your area that we do group rides with. While I now mainly ride an R6, I do not discriminate because I learned a lot on my 250. Should you have any questions or want to go for a little ride send me a message and I'll give you my cell #. I also have a plethora of tools should you wanna do some work on your bike(you will lol).
