Will be needing to replace the stem bearings soon. I'll probably tackle the job when I get around to ordering my new springs.

First ride since the valve adjustment and APE CCT, not sure if it's just in my head but the bike runs a lot smoother and the idle is rock solid as it used to fluctuate a tiny bit.

Went for my first ride on my new ninja today.
I haven't rode a real bike for over 20 year and was a bit worried I needn't have been the little ninja is so easy to ride even when I made the usual noobish mistakes it was very forgiving.
Damn fun I couldn't get the smile off my face
Cant wait till tomorrow hehe

Got the supposedly OEM connectors in and so set up to install the new LED properly.

Connectors too big and has reversed wiring, broke innards trying to switch wires, jammed them back together and plugged it in, yay works! Wires fell out, release tab broke, threw busted pieces across garage into garbage, cut the OEM female connector off, crimped some blade connectors on, plugged everything back in, still works, wires fell out again...

Walked away

Returned much later, taped the **** out of both wires and connectors, correctly wired up the second connector (they installed it backwards, I plug it in backwards so my black is really red and red is really black), yay that's working. Unplug both to run wires through frame cleanly, broke tab off female side, decided I hate the OEM connectors on the bike and will just go through and install connections that can actually come apart without using a pry bar.

But hey, i have a working LED tail light and two LED rear turn signals.

Oil change, oil sample for Blackstone, lubed chain and clutch cable.

Ran 5k miles on Motul 300V, sending in a sample to Blackstone to see if it's holding up fine.

yea, it's a severe hazard imo. Even in a car you have significantly less traction on it.

Givi Rack for Ninja 2009

Today,

I spend hours trying to install the Givi rack on my Ninja 250R 2009 "Blanket Stealer". It was a pain in the ass and I'm 90% done.

Why do I have 10% left? 2 of the screws are too short and I manage to strip them

Later this week, I'm going to go to home depot to grab longer scews.

This is the 2nd time I have ever bought a Givi rack.

The First one was my CBR125r, and it had fitment issues. One of the arms was bend slightly wrong, so after using a blow touch, I was able to bend it a little.

Here's a picture of the place where the screws are too short.

Once I have it all set up, I'll post pictures.

Take care Everybody!!

Car wash was in the agenda today. But I think it was on everyone else's too. The line at the car wash was out to the road. Took one look and said aw hell no!
I'll hit it up this week. Sounds like snow again this week anyway.

Walked out into the 14deg icy cold hell that is NY right now.
Stepped into the garage.
Started a fire in the wood stove

Then stared longingly at both bikes for some time imagining what spring will bring lol.

Un bolted the kick stand and located the oil change stuff I bought for the ninja.

Haha get ready for spring maintenance

I ran mine through the car wash yesterday and afterwards all I could think was "Damn, so that's what my car is supposed to look like." I should have ordered the WeatherTech mats for my Scion when I got them for the husband's BMW, because my carpet mats are definitely going to need a thorough shampoo come spring.
