Smile Trip to Canada, who is along the way??

Aye there! In the beginning of June I plan on taking a road trip heading towards Toronto, Canada. I haven't planned any specific stops along the way and I'm very open to and would welcome any suggestions. (:

I thought I'd post up and let others know about my trip in case any one wanted to meet up along the way for a stretch or show me some fun rips in your area. I live in Dallas, Texas. I imagine I'll be heading through either Arkansas or Oklahoma, then Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan on the way to Toronto. Then New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Arkansas on the way back home.

This is my first actual post aside from my introduction on this forum, so what's good, haha.

I'd love to meet you guys if possible.

Haven't been myself, but heard that the Tail of the Dragon and the Blue Ridge Parkway are both must-do's if in the general area.

I've heard of Deal's Gap/Tail of the Dragon. Blue Ridge Parkway looks like a lot of fun too! (: Thanks! I do intend on checking both of them out.

Not too sure about whether or not I'm going to be headed to NYC, I'll definitely pm you if I am. It's pretty hot down here in Texas too, I think I'll be fine. (;

Arkansas has some great roads, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana not so much (farmland), Michigan is beautiful. On the way back if you stay a bit more east you'll hit many great spots.

Just came back from Toronto (not by bike though), lots of fun! Try https://roadtrippers.com/. Also, if you're stopping in Pennsylvania, I'd make a trip to the Revzilla headqaurters for some gear, or Michigan, you can hit up Sportbiketrackgear.

Toronto is fun, stop in London on the way. Great town.

I'm just outside of Chicago, tent space and beer is free.

PM me if you decide to come down the Delaware river. Thats a good ride on both the PA River Road (rt32) and NJ River Road (rt29).

I'm on the NJ Side. I could ride up to met you as you come down.

Thanks for the links. I deleted the first leg of my trip through Arkansas the other day, the references will be added to my new route. (:

I plan on breaking many places, charge things up. I've been told to install a charger to my battery, maybe I'll figure that one out before I go. I've planned little stops along the way, museums, parks, caverns, etc. (: I plan on this being a nice leisurely trip.

Cool, I could meet up with you in Frenchtown. I could take you down the PA side of the river and show you Bowman Tower. Its an amazing view from the top. Though I recommend taking the elevator to the top and then waking down. I think its like 6 bucks to go up.
and if you're not pressed for time or anything I'll show you a tasty Jersey diner.

Victoria, how did you come up with your route? Are there places you have to go to? There are a few great roads that you come close to but aren't on your route. I'm sure members could give you tips on "not to miss roads", unless your route has a purpose.

Sounds great to me, how tall is the tower? My trip is going to be very laid back. (:

There are a few permanent destinations, Shipshewana (grandparents), Brampton (friend), Binghamton (friends), Towson (friend), Batavia (friend), Frankfort (aunt/family). I'm open to altering things, I'd love to hit as many as possible.

It's 125' tall and on top of the highest hill in the area. Here's a link with some info and pics.

leg 2 goes right by my place, but in the middle of it, you will be 100 miles east at the end of leg 2.

when you go by Cass Ave on I-55 and see the sign that says "Argonne National Lab" just wave and rev your engine.

do you feel the need to go right down town? I-55 to LSD. If you get it at the right time, it will be ok, if not, that bit around the tip of lake Michigan can be slow and hot.

you could stay on 80 and save some time... and from about Joliet it's all new asphalt. Looks like you have some points of interest, and LSD is nice when it isn't snowing and blowing.

Woah! Looks like fun!

You'll have a blast in SE Ohio. Route 555 is ridiculous.

Although you won't swing my way (DC area), I'm a Hoosier born and raised, and you'll go right past my alma mater. When you hit Madison, IN, before you cross the river, I suggest two things: ride up into Hanover and ride through the little Hanover College campus, just because it's beautiful. I spent 4 wonderful years there a while ago. Then, if you need a recharge, grab a cup o' joe in downtown Madison at Madison Coffee and Tea.

Have fun and ride safe!

Heyyy! I moved at the beginning of June, and started a new job in July. I ended up having to push the trip back. At&t finally got my internet hooked up Sunday. (:

I'm leaving on August 10th. I'm going to rearrange some of my plans, as some other things have changed as well. I'll definitely update everything. Now, off to work.

So I failed to update anything, no time. Plans changed again. I'm leaving this afternoon after I run some errands. I'll update things as much as I can as I go. My instagram is squirrelystar as well, if anyone wants to follow me. I'm sure I'll be posting pictures along the way.

If you come through DC you can count on a meal and a full tank of gas
