Fledgling Ninjette - Hi Yall!
New to bike riding, just bought my baby. Its a 2006 ex250. Red, with black under seat trim. Previous owner dropped it at a high speed and never rode it again. It's got some problems with the left side(bent handlebar, clutch lever, shifter, and such).
She needs loving, and I luv IT! |

Welcome! Most Ninja 250s have some form of damage history, but we gotta give them the TLC they deserve

Welcome, and congrats on your new toy. The Ninjette is a surprisingly quick and nimble, best bang for the buck is dialing in the suspension.
Fortunately Kawasaki didn't change the bike for 19 years, so parts are plentiful and inexpensive. And now my standard greeting, Welcome, here are just a few things to think about, 1.Get trained and licensed MSF Courses 2.ALWAYS Wear protective gear -- ATGATT All The Gear, All The Time -- including a helmet manufactured to the standards set by a government agency. 3.ALWAYS Ride unimpaired by alcohol or other drugs 4.ALWAYS Ride within your own skill limits 5.Be a lifelong learner by taking refresher rider courses, and advanced rider course A.R.C. https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=218237 https://www.ninjette.org/forums/show...8&postcount=26 A.T.G.A.T.T. so I may ride another day.

Wow! Thanks guys
Yall are cool peoples. never expected a reply this soon, wow a whole came thru though.
Ghost: I went through the msf2 course at csn the first weekend i owned the bike. My cert card gave me a discount at Cycle Gear where i bought some Bilt armored gloves and some new iridium plugs. I still need some type of lower protection + its winter time. Any good recommendations for online stores or vegas locations? I never go anywhere without strapping my helmet. I have been told countless gruesome stories of motorcycle wrecks from my friends and such that for a long time i held off buying a bike. After my last car was totaled(not my fault, no injuries), i decided its time to go with my gut feeling. Now I am hardcore into it. I do nothing but read tech articles(thank you ninja250.org) and window shop for pieces i can replace or change. I'm in love! My neighbor rides, he has a huge zx-14. I am scared shitless just thinking about starting it. Whenever he talks crap about "my scooter", i just show him how i can stand next to it and lean the bike over holding it by the handlebar. Lightweight, great on gas, easy to work on, inexpensive parts, gets me where i need to go, fast as i wanna go, and looks cool. Whats not to love? I'm living that Ninjette life! |

Howdy neighbor!

Totally go ride Valley of Fire, especially out towards Mouse's Tank. Also the ride around toward Blue Diamond is beautiful. When they get some of the damage cleaned up, Death Valley is a fantastic ride with Artists Drive being the best and Hwy 190 from Stovepipe to the park boundary and great little twisty section.

Oh, and the Gear section of the forum has links to lots of online distributors. I'm also fond of Revzilla, but it pays to shop around. Revzilla will price match if you find a cheaper US based seller.

Awesome
I will go riding one of the location you gave this weekend probably. Thank you for the shop reference I haven't heard of revzilla yet. I've already experienced somebody being aggressive with their driving. My first weekend on the bike a guy cut in front of me and slammed on his brakes when there was nobody in our Lane. It wasn't a turning lane or anything. The back wheel locked up and I slid for a bit all squirrely. Instinct from riding a BMX bike kicked in and I regained control thankfully. I'll just say that I let him have a piece of my mind.
Gotta get back to work now hopefully I'll see you Vegas riders out there! |
