[RideApart] - Bike Porn: BMW Concept Roadster

The BMW Concept Roadster debuted this past weekend at the world famous Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Lake Como, Italy.

While its name had many journalists wondering why the vehicle ended up on two wheels we were delighted to see BMW putting resources into their motorcycle line at one of the world’s most iconic classic car events. Proving that BMW Motorrad wasn’t just a one hit wonder, having debuted their Concept Ninety at last year’s event.

“The BMW Concept Roadster is exciting to look and at least as exciting to ride,” says Ola Stenegard, Head of Vehicle Design BMW Motorrad, of the BMW Concept Roadster.

The Roadster houses a BMW boxer engine with 125 hp and is also plays a role as the visual center of the bike. It’s crouching posture with a powerful front wheel stance and short (seemingly tucked) rear end promise agile, light-footed handling similar to other naked bikes in the segment (e.g. The Duke).

Combining quality composites and milled aluminum sections – like the seat pan. While machines may have handled plenty of exterior design components, hand crafted touches like the steep sectioned tailpipe.

While the Concept Roadster is a one-off (for now) we certainly hope BMW sees this one through to production.

Nice looking bike but too narrowly focused for me. This HP2 is the Beemer that I would like to own.
They are expensive!
