Hi from Upstate SC

Hi everyone,
I've been riding for 50 years and just discovered the Ninjette. I just bought a perfect red 2008 with 4,700mi. I've had a great time the last couple of weeks just cruising country roads. I haven't ridden either of my other two runners since I got the 250. The other two are a 94 Sportster that I bought new and a 75 Yamaha XS650B. I made two cross country trips (1977 & 78) on an identical Yamaha that I bought new in 1976. I got rid of it in 1978 and always regretted it. I found the one I've got now in Hemmings ten years ago with 5,044mi (pretty good for a 25 year old bike). I also have a few bikes in many stages of restoration: 1982 Goldwing Aspencade, 1967, 1971 & 1972 Triumph Bonnevilles, 1955 Harley 165, two 1960 Harley Toppers, a 1960 Cushman Super Eagle and a 1966 Honda 50 Super Cub. As you can see, I like old motorcycles in the mold of the old Bonnevilles. The Sportster and XS650 are very similar to the Bonnies. The Ninja is quite a departure but one that I'm tickled that I made. At 63 (allbeit, a young 63) I doubt I'll be doing a whole lot of 10/10ths riding but I plan on having a little fun dragging a knee occasionally. My userID, ahenthus, is a shortened Austin Healey Enthusiast. I've been into sports cars as long as bikes.

Austin Healey - cool! I was raised as a Triumph enthusiast. My father collected TR3s, I've got a TR4A that I need to fix up.

Ken - I love TRs too. I believe I've passed thru Indio a time or two. I wish Riverside Raceway was still in operation. Get to work on your TR4!!!

Travis - The video was great, thanks. I've been to North. I won an SCCA rally in 1987 that ended at North AFB. It's a reserve base with one of the longest runways in the world. It's only used on weekends and during USAF exercises. There are very few permanent buildings. The base commander is a sergeant who is also the fire chief. If memory serves me correctly he was the only person stationed there except maybe a USAF civilian or two. The base comes alive and turns into a large tent city on weekends and during exercises. Otherwise you'd never know it's there.

Kelly - Beautiful island. I rode from SC to LA on my Yamaha 650 in 1977 and shipped it to Honolulu and lived there for nine months, shipped it back to LA and rode back to SC in 1978. Kauai was my favorite island. I'll bet the Ninja is fun there. I rode my 650 all over Oahu. I worked in a boat factory on Sand Island long enough to finance a few months of beach bumming and surfing before I returned to the mainland. Fond memories.
