kim have you ever ridden on the stock seat before you got your corbin. if you did how far could you ride until you felt a lot of discomfort.

Anything has to be better than the stock seat on a '07 or older ninja.

I couldn't make it 100 miles on the stock seat. With the corbin I can do over 200 easy... now if only I can find a fix to make it easier on the knees

Thanks guys and gals for all the input. Right know I'm in conversation with Corbin. I wanna get a seat with red accent, like red stitching or red piping inserts or trims (the bike will be black with red lettering). I also wanted to have the Corbin lettering in both sides of the seat but for some reason they don't wanna do it (weird). I also want that lettering in red.
If any of you gals and gays have something like this, please post a pic or can give any suggestions. I see that Corbin posted in here, it would be nice to know their opinion about the lettering on both sides and suggestion on design. Happy holidays to all of you |

I been considering to check with custom seat creations to see if they can make something similar to what I want. I have no experience with them, are they good, and their product too?

Last weekend I rode for 350 miles and felt great! It was my first long trip with the Corbin seat. It was well worth the price for me.
After around 200 miles or so I used to beg for the traffic lights to turn red so that I could raise my aching butt off the seat but not any more! |

Hey dude, could you please take a better pic of the seat? How do you like it. That looks awesome. Could you find out for me the store?
Thanks. |

JC no longer carries Corbin! I emailed them a few weeks ago and the response was "We no longer deal in Corbin seats! Thank You"

JR, I have the same thing on mine, with the accent in blue. I think it's a great pop of color without being too drastic.

yeah, it's JC motors....they give the best price last time I researched.
Seat is great. You actually seat on the seat instead of making you slide forward humping the tank. Long distance is great....i can ride for hours without issue. |

Just got mine and it's heavy duty compared to the stock. Much heavier seat pan with metal tabs for the bolt anchors. Mine looks exactly like the one in the JC page. Very smooth and easy to move around on.

Custom Seat Creations makes some really nice covers for the original seat or probably any seat out there. I like the stock seat and have managed to ride 500 mi with no discomfort. I will probably have Becky make me a seat cover with green accents at some future date.

Does the Corbin seat sit higher than the original stock seat?

Corbin seat manufacturing takes into account the inseam length you submit. When I put mine on a month ago I didn't note any real difference in the height. The difference comes from a wider seat pan, a tilt that brings you away from the tank and a more substantial product than the paper thin stock seat. It improves comfort on the ride and really helps you plant corners more than the stock. (I of course speak of the 2008+ model don't know the diff for a pregen). It was a wise investment for my purposes and makes the ride much more pleasurable.

I ordered an all-leather red saddle and Corbin called after the order was placed online with a suggestion. They said the sides of the saddle compress and flex so much that leather wasn't a good idea and they thought I should use vinyl for that part to avoid the sides cracking and splitting over time. It was a good suggestion and one of the reasons Corbin is known for it's customer service. |

I have finally ordered my corbin seat for $249 CDN + shipping at baysideperformance.ca.
This is good news for us Canadians. Corbin site is selling them for $259 USD. For some reason i thought that Corbin was selling them for $300+ last year. I guess i'm finally at that age where my mind is going

Nice!
I ended up buying a seat off eBay, in "new" condition though it had a small tear on the back side for $150 shipped. Still great for longer rides |

seat height
Hi, would someone with a Corbin please tell me if it lowers or raises the seat height? It seems I have read both.
Thanks,

It wouldn't really raise the height. I believe the issue is that the corbin is wider than our stock seat.
So for a short person like me that had to lower my bike, i will need to bow my legs at the hips more which will decrease my inseam length to touch my feet to the ground.

I got a Corbin a few weeks ago and I like it. It doesn't crush my...well... let's say it doesn't push me against the tank. I'm 6 feet so the widening of the seat helps me imo.
