Talking Hello from Denver, CO!

Hi All,

I'm pretty new to the bike world. I recently picked up a blue 2009 ninja 250R. So far I really like it! My main goals are to make a track only bike that I can learn on for a couple seasons, then maybe start competing in the 250 spec classes.

When I was at the dealer picking up the bike, they were having a huge sale on their parts department stuff. So I picked up a Leo Vince slip-on exhaust for $175 + tax! I went home and installed it that afternoon and WOW, what a difference! It makes the bike sound MEAN! Being that I live a mile above sea level, we generally tend to have issues with stock tunes up here, so I ordered the follow so that I can start tuning the bike:

I had really good luck with the Innovative Motorsports LM-1 wideband a few years ago, and from all the reviews I've read, they really stepped up their game with the LM-2. Here is a link to their website with a couple of
videos showing the capabilities of the wideband unit:
http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lm2.php

So that being said, I ordered the following...

LM-2 Wideband kit:
http://www.amazon.com/Innovate-Motor...6624857&sr=8-1

I also ordered this new, super nifty inductive clamp RPM pickup sensor
so I can compare air/fuel ratio to RPM (really the only correct way
to tune it):
http://www.amazon.com/Innovate-Motor...=pd_sim_auto_2

Last, a 12V battery terminal to cigarette socket hardwire kit,
built-in 10A inline fuse:
https://www.powerlet.com/product/PKT-101-48/215

As soon as I get a general idea of where the AFR is, I'll order the appropriate jets from JetsRUs.com.

I'll start a new thread once I get the wideband just in case others are interested in tuning a carb. setup with a wideband.

Let the fun begin!

Thanks for looking,
Gary

Bump...

Is this: http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/x...1&cat=0&page=1

The same as this: http://www.amazon.com/Innovate-Motor...6624857&sr=8-1 (link from above)

and why the price difference?

Also, the plug on this:https://www.powerlet.com/product/PKT-101-48/215

are they the same as the battery tender plugs?

http://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tender.../dp/B0041CDPQO

do these differ from the BMW plugs? If so, which one is more standard, and where do I buy just the plugs? I just need a set of just the battery tender plugs. My idea is to cut off the cigarette lighter end which comes with the innovate kit and put on the battery tender end, which means I can power it off the bike, which means I can take the bike for a spin with the logger on-board. In addition, the lead from the battery side will then make it easy to put the bike on a trickle charger, all the same plug. I hope this makes sense. Why not just get the cigarette lighter to plug converter? Because I hate extra plugs, and cigarette lighter plugs don't do well on a bouncing, vibrating motorcycle - at least in my experience...

Good idea, Maybe you have already thought of this, but I figured I would mention it in case you hadn't(or for others thinking about it). Keep in mind that most of those cigarette lighter plugs have fuses in them(and many blow at different amperages for different devices), so you will want to put a fuse in there that is rated the same as the one in the plug so you protect your device from getting fried or possibly starting an electrical fire on your bike(if you have no fuse in line from the battery).
