Be careful! I don't think you're supposed to get on when it's on stands (the head stand in particular). My Lockhart-Philips triple-tree stand has an obvious bend in the arm with a split in the paint where it welds on. I think it needs to be re-welded. It still lifts, but I doubt it would tolerate that. Edit: It no longer lifts! It wouldn't tolerate the bike's weight alone! Thread, incoming.

Yeah, I only did it for this shot and comparison. I too have the same crack at the weld but was cautious at trying to put any more weight on the front.

Replaced my dry rotted vacuum caps. Hopefully this should fix my idle issues I've been having for the past few weeks.

Just finished realigning my forks. Things I Found out: I need more shims in my clipons. I'm missing a bolt for the fairing on the left side. Looks like I tweaked the steering stop on the steering tube from all my lowsides.

Talking

Got tired of my looks-only, ghetto spray painted, stock windscreen. So I bought the Hotbodies GP smoked windscreen. It's freaking awesome, not too tall like most of the double bubble screens out there that make the 'jette appear...weird and non-aerodynamic, it's transparent enough to allow me to see at full tuck in while retaining the cool smoked look and performs very well at deflecting wind...my first test run on the highway, fully tucked in at 80mph...eerie silence! Loving it

haha! Good eye you got there bro (doesn't surprise me, seeing as you're 4 eyed ). I failed to notice the "slightly" bent right handle bar when I bought my bike used (@ 700miles) and I only caught it recently (~5000miles) But it's no biggie, it doesn't trouble me and I have the woodcraft clipons ordered and on their way, so that ought to fix it all. I might even call upon you for some clip-on adjustment tips and of course, your exceptionally powerful eye sight.

That Hotbodies DB looks like a great middle ground between the ZG version, and that other one.... (can't remember name off-hand, spanish comapny I think). Specifically the arc isn't as agressive as the DB, but has a more defined transition than the other one (where is my brain today?).

^^ You mean hotbodies GP looks like a great middle ground? Because that's the GP, not DB

More practice!
Getting better everyday... did too "quick" of a u-turn... had to fight to not listen to the newbie voice freaking out wanting me to grab brake, remained calm and just leaned on the handle bar more....even though wasn't 100% sure I wasn't going to clear the curb... but I did.... only touchy part of the ride.

//////End newbie chronicle for the day.... back to your regularly scheduled programming....

I suppose, I didn't realize it wasn't the db (never really looked at their line).

Washed the bike today.

Just Washed by Benji Reynolds, on Flickr

I actually like the looks of the ZG DB better than that hot bodies, just wish I would have got mine in clear instead of smoke.

Got mine covered in bugs during a group ride on the alphabet roads in SW Wisconsin. It's going to get a major detailing tomorrow. Had no problems keeping with the big dogs in the twisties.

I came across a free rear seat cowel but its GREEN, i have the 2012 black and red ninjette, sooooo I'm attempting to paint it. I bought a plastic primer and paint and i sand down the green paint and primed it now waiting for it to sit so i can paint. I hope it turns out good. Has anyone else had luck doing this?

I just passed MSF last weekend, got my M endorsement on Wednesday and finally took my baby for her first official ride today. I was nervous but it was a great ride. Got up to 70mph on a nice long straightaway.

My take off needs to be a bit smoother but I think part of the problem is I need to get the clutch adjusted because it doesn't disengage until I let it out almost all the way and I'd rather have the friction zone somewhere in the middle.

All in all, great ride!

You'll get the hang of it. It's things like this and stalling the bike on takeoff that just come naturally if you're having problems with them now.

Today I'm taking my poor little Ninjette to the mechanic cause it's dead. Overheats into full red and dumps boiling coolant all over my shoes *OUCH* Oh and not to mention my tires don't hold pressure.

Picked it up from the dealer yesterday for my one and only visit, it was the 600 mile one and wanted them to give it the once over. They lubed the chain and got it everywhere once it started to spin, why I use chain wax.

Gave it a good thorough wash last night and finished it today with a proper wax / detail.

Modified Exhaust

I modified my stock exhaust by removing the baffle from the header and also removing 3.5 inches from the length of the header and then installing a DanMoto Titanium GP slip-on.

...and no, I'm not finished with the details of the install as I'm sure some brainiac will be sure to point out!

And if you want a cool exhaust hanger like the one in the pictures, please go to www.customwireexhausthangers.com

Finished replacing the fork seals (such a messy job) yesterday. Did an oil change since I found that after my last service the oil light stayed on for like 15 sec. At which point I found my oil filter was kind of jammed in there I had to pry it off (I think I am not going to the stealership anymore). Then did some rejetting focusing on the idle since the bike was a pita to start all the time. Sometimes when it was warm it took 1-3 cranks to get it running.

So now the ninja is back to being awesome. Next I need to replace the grips and find some plastic rivets.
