Why the 2013 Ninja 250 sucks
Oh that's right you heard me. Too much praise and not enough criticism! So let's get down to it.
First thing the styling. This new 250 is one sexy looking bitch, finally conforming to that very aggressive supersport look and that's the part that sucks, it looks too similar to other Kawi bikes now. I particularly like the look of the current gen 250s, it's aggressive but also distinctively different. It has it's own look, when you see a 250, you know it's a 250, and that 250 says back to you I will rape your asshole in the twisties so watch the **** out bitch. Exhaust is gay Tires are IRC EFI, the good, We'll finally be able to get some OEM TB's here! And you know how much carbs suck, all that time we've spent tuning rejetting and cleaning, all that will be gone now, and that sucks. That stuff was part of what made owning a 250 fun. I remember a well written blog with a play on words about the petcock, I couldn't find it or I would post it but I'm sure @Alex knows the one I'm talking about and can maybe find it. Basically she was saying how moving away from working on our bikes sucks. And while EFI is awesome and can make the bike easier to ride, so was all that tuning we've done. Fixing and cleaning carbs. And I know someone may mention how people are switching to ecotrons but the people switching to ecotrons are carrying over all that tuning love they give their ninjettes. It's not just a swap and go, it's hard work making that ninja your own. Very few people with 2013 EFI ninjettes will have that opportunity with their bike. ABS, ABS is awesome but ABS sucks because even if it does make it to the states it won't make it to Cali. Damn you new 250 for offering something I can never have! $$$$ - It's going to go up, **** it went up this year and they didn't even change anything. The price is getting awfully close to the 650 The wheels, jesus christ, those wheels are so stupid looking. Goddamn those are gayer than @codestp202's swingarm Even so I do find myself with a strong desire to own this bike. Perhaps once Area P comes out with an exhaust for it so I can take that eye sore off. Who knows, power commanders could be fun

I actually like the look of the new exhaust, definitely over the current one. Though I will agree that part of the charm the 08-12 250s had was that it had distinct styling unique to itself (EDIT: aside from the headlights, which is a moot point anyway)
I feel your tuning argument is just there to act as devil's advocate lol. I for one wasn't really looking forward to doing all that work after buying a full exhaust, although I can see how it would bring a person closer to their bikes emotionally |

Will the 2013 250 beat a GSXR-1000? I'd hate to get my asshole raped in the twisties (very embarassing)!

Yeaaaaaaaaaaah, love the pregens forevaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!
I am shallow, and all I see is dumb wheels( they look dumb,08+ has the best looking wheels), the rear is not that much bigger and even with all the acclaimed features that this has( no more carbs, yes please!!!) I believe this is the one that will kill the 250 in america. One of the reasons this bike has been so popular is because it was an affordable entry level bike that had enough forgiveness for the noobs but enough fun for the experts; now comes this over the top 250 that will be awesome from a racers perspective but a bit intimidating and hardcore for noobs( starting with the price). I like it, is ane w stepand nomatter what tech will go forward, but I no longer thing this will do good for the already challenging 250 market. Those are my 2 cents,i could be wrong, all those features might make it more appealing to everyone and the dawn of a new era is coming, but I wont hold my breath about it. |

Good point. I really like the styling of the 09-10 bikes I have. I wouldn't want it to look like something it's not. Also not look like a older bike. I think the current gen 250 was a perfect blend.

I'm just concerned about price hikes. A 250 needs to stay in it's niche price point, anything much over $4000 is already pushing it I think. You get in the $5k+ range and suddenly many buyers ask themselves why not a bigger bike?
(Personally though I'm hoping this bike, regardless of price prompts a bit more competition between Honda and Kawasaki leading to price decreases and quality increases. But I'll be buying a current gen or pre gen anyhow so I suppose for the time being it makes no difference)

Honestly it doesn't look all that different from the current 250r. I do think it looks better but until I read about how FI (assuming it gets FI) effects power output I don't think it'll out perform the current model by that much.
Although I do wonder if it'll allow for lower clipons? |

Not sure, some people have said it's do to the emissions standards of CA. But the ninja 1000 has ABS everywhere except cali, I'd imagine once the 650 comes to market its ABS counterpart won't be available here either and that goes the same for the 250.

Idk, it doesn't mean ABS isn't allowed here just that kawi didn't want to jump through cali's hoops to get it
