Hello Everyone! First bike!

Hey everyone, my name is Jesse and I just picked up my first bike this last Sunday. I live in West Des Moines, Iowa so the riding season is getting close to being over so I was able to pick this bike up for cheap from someone wanting to have a quick sale before winter. It is a 2010 250R with 1700 miles on it but looks like it just came off the show room floor! Except for the whole rear fender eliminator part. Just got my license yesterday and put 40 miles on it already.

For future plans I am looking at doing a color matching rear seat cowl, remove passenger pegs, Blue Halo headlights, Full exhaust, Jet Kit, 150 rear tire, frame sliders, and blue tinted wind screen. I'm really not planning on taking this bike to the track I just have a huge habit of modding everything I own to make it faster and look better. I take a lot of pride in what I own and like to make it the best that I can.

Welcome to the forum. Yes, blue is the sexiest colour, not the fastest under my butt but there's always time to work on that

Just to clear up I have taken the motorcycle safety course and I am in the process of finding a good jacket and gloves. I already have a full face "snell" approved helmet and will more than likely be getting the gloves and jacket today after I get off work. I do still ride with long sleeves and I have some BMX gloves that I have been wearing for the short term to get me by till today.

Does anyone have any good recommendations on a set of flush mounts?

Welcome!

Once you get all the FARKLEs you want, and have it personalized the way YOU want it, you will never need another (especially if it is properly jetted)!

You may, however, WANT an ADDITIONAL bike, but don't get bit by the "upgrade" bug. The 250r is an amazing bike. Enjoy!

I do really like the way you did that str8t but I really don't like the fact that you have to glue/ adhesive them on to the bike instead of screw them in. Granted they do look REALLY good though! haha

Well anyways I just got back in from about 4 straight hours of riding and I stopped and picked up my new jacket and gloves today! I gotta say I really do love what I got and at a very good price!

I got a Icon Contra jacket and Cortech Accelerator gloves. Ended up paying right around $200 for both so I think I got a pretty damn good deal.

thanks!

i didnt like the fact of glueing it either, but honestly, how often do blinker bulbs go bad?

even if it does go out, i just used silicone to hold it, so its easy to take off and reapply.

Str8t, I saw in another thread that you actually painted the insides of the blinker black? How well did that work and did it affect the brightness at all?

it didnt really affect the brightness at all because the bulbs themselves are yellow, so it is still bright.

i just painted the chrome reflector, dont paint the actual clear lens.
