cop me an F4i... whoot whoot
As some of you might have known already, I've been trying to get another bike. I've tested zzr 600, fz6, and 06 f4i. I was also interested in gsxr 600, primarily the k3's. Anyway I've settled my heart on an 05 f4I. I've been talking to the guy for almost a month because I couldn't get the bike yet. The guy was so patient and waited for me.
I have difficulty steering the bike, especially to the left, but I think it's because the bike has been so significantly lowered. I know It's not me because I was fine on the other f4I I test-roaded. I can hear part dragging if I go over bumps and stuff... I'm only 5'6, but I'm bring her back to stock height tomorrow... if anybody knows another reasons for the slow uncomfortable steering, feel free to let me know.. Paid 3000 for her with 6k+ miles on her. I'm gonna be the third owner. I guess the first owner did some upgrade to her, the exhaust surprisingly doesn't sound like stock. |

Nice cop! Do you still have/keeping the pregen?
I too have been in the market for another bike and I've been looking at a lot of CBR's. It looks great! Hope you enjoy it well!

WOW! That bike is extremely low. No wonder is doesn't handle right. Also, that is not the stock exhaust.

Woah... RAISE IT BACK UP PLEASE, that thing is painfully low. F4is handle lovely so you're really missing out. What you're dragging is most likely the part of the exhaust where all 4 headers come into one pipe, it's the lowest thing on the bike. It hangs down past the plastics, it's even a little low with the bike stock height for my preference. So I just stay away from hopping curbs on this one :P Have fun and enjoy, Truly an amazing bike.

Just an inch probably won't be bad, it won't be as good as stock height but hey you gotta do what you gotta do. I personally wouldn't lower a bike in most cases because I don't want to mess with the stock handling, but the F4i is sort of tall. I'm not the tallest guy out there so backing it up uphill can be a challenge lol.

When i got my RR it was lowered 3 inches, the license plate hit the wheel and bent up every time I hit a bump. It also handled like crap, so I bought the stock dogbones on ebay & it feels so much better. At first it seemed way too high, but I'm used to it now and can't imagine it being any lower.

3000 what a steal. I got mine for 3800 with 5600 miles bone stock.

Now the bike settles into turns beautifully, I replaced the tires with Michelin power 3 and rode in the rain yesterday, no slippage whatsoever. I'm loving the bike.. The only downside is that it makes my 250 feels like crap when I switch to the 250. Will post new pics soon after I clean and detail her tomorrow |

Lowering a bike does affect it's ability to turn in, however, you're having difficulty turning left. I had this problem too, when I first road the Zx6r. It was mainly due to the fact that the tires were worn off so much on the left, making it awkward to turn. A pair of new tires made it flick able and completely opened up the bike. Also, are you right handed? I am, as time progressed, I slowly became better at turning left. Being dominant on one side might have something to do with it.

I've realllly been looking at F4i's recently. They're much cheaper than 300's and look sweeeet. How are your feet with it lowered an inch? Tippy toes? Balls of feet?

I flat footed it most of the time...elevated area where my heels can reach the ground for some reasons.. I'd be on the balls of my feet.

The only sport bike that you'll honestly not want to street ride because of height is the 06 and up R6. If the wind is as strong as it is today I'd drop that bike for sure at a stop light |

Damn you guys have good deals on F4is, I bought mine at the start of the season, not gonna say what I paid lol. Glad you're liking the bike, I've really fallen in love with mine. Unfortunately don't get to ride it all that much because of living on campus, and when I do it's mostly highway stuff putting nice flat spots in the middle of my tires lol... Luckily the track is only 20 minutes away from my college, can't wait for spring!
