Removing airbox question

hello all...

I am working on eliminating my airbox from my 96 ninja 250 and yesterday I noticed a two hoses connected to the airbox. One was going to the engine block and the other was blocked off and hanging. If I am eliminating the airbox and just putting airfilters on the carbs would I just leave the one hose connected to the engine block and seal the hose off??

Dear Jesus,

The hose to the top of the engine is a breather, I would put the hose back on and fit a small filter on there.

Amen.

So I've got some free time at work today. Which K&N filter should a get for the crankcase breather hose? My old one has a nice size rip in it so needs replacing.

Yeah I think I'm gonna go the small fram filter route this time since it seems easier to clean. Cool.

@agentbad
@Jetfoi

Also look into rejeting as most changes to the carbs or exhaust will require it.

I just ordered a Factory Pro kit, comes with new needles and jets:
You can get decen results by just buying individual jets:

You got the part number for that because they couldn't find any of the ones on the ninja faq wiki for whatever reason when I was in there earlier this week. I'm already rejetted with jets I got off jetsrus.

Yes I will probably have to look into this since the bike has a aftermarket header and exhaust system on it, plus with changing the airbox out it will def need to be tuned accordingly.

Thanks
