Received and installed the group buy Apex stainless brakes lines today. I found it helpful to bend the tab closest to the front caliper upward, as the new line is very stiff. (shown in photo below) Remember that your Ninjette uses DOT 4 brake fluid.

My brakes were fine before, but the levers are hard as a rock now! Awesome upgrade!

If you want to save money and are not in a hurry, I recommend joining in on one of the Ninjette group buys.

Looks good, Tim! I'll pick up some lines later down the road when I really need them.

Got all the stock races off the steering stem and head now I just can't seat the lower bearing on the steering stem. I need to head to the hardware store and get some pipe.

I also drilled out the holes in the dampening rods with my power drill. Not the prettiest but it'll do. I just need to get a file to debur the edges so they don't damage the fork seals.

Today I ordered a Yoshimura TRC Full System CF Exhaust for my new 2012 Ninja 250.

Really needs it, the stock exhaust is incredibly restrictive - and my Briggs & Stratton-powered lawnmower sounds better than my Ninja 250 currently does -

Nice wheel... It's going to look sweet on your bike...

I took my Ninja for the first time of the season...

I'll have to fiddle with the suspension setup to make it a little plusher but before, I'm going to tighten my direction, it was a bit slack coming home from my fiend's house. I think I went a little too soft when I changed the OEM bearing for the tapered ones...

So my season is officially open...

Yesterday went on my first group ride, well technically there was only 2 of us, and the first time I ventured on the highway. Wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. Once I got over the fear of merging into oncoming traffic and passing 18 wheelers highway riding was pretty straight forward.

According to the specs, the 300 has a 4.5 gal fuel capacity. This is how much gas I put in last night lol.

Nicely done Rebecca!

Yeah if I ever start whining about gas prices on this side of the hill, I just pop down to Topaz or up to Tahoe. Cures any complaints I have instantly!

Those are some nice cords! You should practice your slalom skills while riding down those long straight roads...might have gotten another couple hundred miles out of those tires lol.

not bad tire wear @NevadaWolf I had my stock IRCs down to similar wear but I swapped them with much smaller patches of cords on the rear. I'll see if I can upload a picture at some point.

Not today but yesterday I got new michelin street radials on my bike and they feel fantastic so far.

Forks with Intiminators installed back on bike. Waxed the bike. Test ride tomorrow.

Helped a local rider out with his 2012 250. First bike, second owner. Steering stem loose--tightened spanner nut, and torqued aftermarket stem nut. Drained excess oil, lubed and adjusted chain. Bike only has 3500 miles and I told him he needs an oil change ASAP. He's new to bikes. Also told him his left handle bar is bent and the original owner had lied to him that the bike was never dropped. I also swapped out one of his turn signals since it was loose and gave him mine. He was referred to me by CraigRR because he was hearing a rattling noise at high RPMs. Noise turns out to be a loose exhaust. I suspected the original owner had a slip-on and swapped the stock exhaust back on when he sold the bike. It was missing the original hardware for the hanger and missing the lower heat shield. Exhaust was rattling because there wasn't a bolt to to clamp the exhaust to the pipe.

110/70-17 front 140/70-17 rear the same as the stock N300 sizes. a 130/70-17 rear is also available if you want it and I believe that there is a 100/70-17 front but I'm not sure. That's all of the sizes though it's a tire designed for the N300/cbr250r/cbr300r/N250/etc. so the sizes run small.

Placed an order for Diablo Rosso II's.

I've had about 13k miles on my Bridgestone S20's and there's still a couple of millimeters of tread left on both the front and the rear.

Took the "Bikes" up hwy 29 and 175 to Boggs demo forest for some sweet smooth roads and even better single track trails. 230 miles on the ninja 50+ on the Mtb.

Damn, that's almost twice as much as I got out of mine. I switched down to the BT-45 to see how much more mileage I can get out of it vs the S20s doing the same kind of riding.

Nice!
I'm just staring mine down, trying to figure out when I can get it into the shop for the 12k mile service, since I'm not confident in my ability to do the valves myself.

One of my mechanic buddies took a peek when we were doing some other work (spark plugs and stuff), and said they were fine then, but it has since started acting a bit funny, so I've gotten antsy.

My first inspection was at 12k because I just didn't know they needed it so soon. Every valve was off by one shim which is good and 30k later nothing has moved.

I can't stand wearing my laptop bag as a backpack while I'm riding so I ordered a cheap top case from JCWhitney, 40L case for $42 shipped. Should be receiving a second rear seat to mount it on from fedex today.

http://www.jcwhitney.com/garage-pro-...?filterid=u0j1

I plan on bolting everything to the bike solidly, not just relying on the keyed latch. I'm hoping to make it my first blog post too.

Don't feel too bad; when I bought my bike new at the dealer, they told me not to come in to check the valves until I hit 15,000 miles!

Perhaps they had not read the owner's manual...
