Track Rider Coming Back to the 250
Hey all,
My first bike was an 07 Ninja 250 that I ripped for a little over a year before getting a Daytona 675. I rode the street for awhile on the Daytona before discovering just how fun the track can be, so the 675 is now my track toy. Last weekend I swapped bikes for a session with a friend that had a 250 and it was the most fun I had all weekend, so now I of course need one again, haha. It's one of those situations where I feel like a massive idiot in retrospect, since I fully upgraded the suspension and some other bits on my Daytona over the winter, and it would have been cheaper to just buy an entire race prepped 250. Oh well, live and learn right? I'll mostly be lurking looking for a turnkey 250 race bike, but tooblekain recommended I say hello and give a shout out. I'm looking forward to learning a lot here! |

Go with the 300. It's just as much fun as the 250, but with a slipper clutch and a little more power.

Welcome. I did the same thing. Started with a 250, then a superhawk, R1, and my last bike was an RC51 that I started doing trackdays on. The 250 is by far the most fun I've had on track.

And since the 300 is still pretty new to the market, for the same price you can get a track prepped 250. Which could put you thousands ahead depending on what it comes with. |

I've decided that unless I see a really nice turnkey racer nearby I'll probably finish the season on my 675 then return it to stock over the winter and get a nice 250 for next year. I'm very prone to rushing into things so I'm trying to avoid doing that just this once, haha. |
