Just did valve adjustment. Can we flush the engine somehow?

Me and my buddy just did a valve adjustment. Unfortunately we dropped a socket once and then a bolt. We had to fish those out at two different times using a string and magnet and a long piece of wood to push it down. We got it out but I'm worried the magnet and wood shed some debris into the engine.

Beside draining the oil is there anything else we can do to try and flush the engine clean?

Highly doubt the magnet left anything in the engine, while the wood might have, though i would venture to guess the amount is negligible and do little damage as it can easily break down compared to something metallic.
Just flush the oil and you should be good to go, unless your chunk of wood was missing chunks from it.

Great. Thanks. Well flush the oil today and put it back together. Hopefully the valve adjustment was good to go.

A very old school trick was to add a little bit of kerosene to the oil, idle for about 5 minutes, then drain the immediately.

Since synthetic oils have excellent qualities over old school conventional oils this practice is no longer needed in most cases, but it's an excellent way to get rid of sludge and gummed up deposits.

Or you could use this method, although I would highly recommend not doing this.
