Seattle area female veteran rider

Been reading the forum for a while, and thought I would finally be a member. Been riding dirt for 11 years, got the '08 250 in '09 from a salvage yard. It was originally black, I did all the work to repair it and get it on the road. She still has a bent frame and salvage on the title, but she means more to me than I would ever sell her for. If I were ever to get rid of it, she would go to my nephew. I just paid a shop to put twin air pods and adjust valves, clean and jet carb. She sucks way more gas now!
Anyway I just finished the paint job last week and despite all the flaws I am pretty proud of it. And glad it's over.

I'd call the Ninja "Cream" so people wouldn't think that "vanilla" means plain/stock. Nice bike, and welcome!

Thanks for warm welcomes!

This is a strictly rattle can paint job. I have a few more areas to touch up, and re-do.
Yes this is my first road bike, Gunnarman. Good luck on that test! You'll do great.

In all the years I have been riding, I only have a handful of photos. Almost zero of me on the bikes! super sad.

Welcome Savannah! Where is the frame bent? Hopefully not in a critical area.

Frame

I am not quite sure where the bend is, but I think it's bent in more than one place. The tech that worked on my bike refused to test ride it when he did the jetting, saying that the frame was TWISTED and the handle bars were bent. He said it was unsafe to ride.
I told him I had been riding it for 5 years and it had never exploded or turned inside out once. And it's a project bike, COME ON!
Anyway here I am now and that fiasco is over and done with.
The only thing I notice is the plastics are a bit harder to put back on, and I have to lean to one side to get the bike to ride straight ONLY when I take my hands off the bars.

not sure if you have someone around you but if its just twisted you can throw it in a frame press and have it tweaked back. it is soft steel so it will go back easily without much fuss (with a real frame press) a pro should only charge 2-400 (depending on area) and it definitely handles a little bit better on its side when it isnt twisted. hard to notice a twist straight up and down though. just gives you weird tire wear and feels a bit off.

Come visit us at the track in Shelton next weekend (6/28-29).

If you get there by about 10:30 or so, you can pay $20 and do Taste of Racing (about 20 minutes around the track, almost as fast as you want to go). If you come early (7am) and volunteer to corner work (2nd best seat in the house!), you can get a ToR voucher.

Or if you just want to spectate, the racing is spectacular to watch.

I race in the 250 class, but probably won't be racing that weekend.

WMRRA.com.

Welcome to ninjette.

I think tfkrocks had the frame fixed on her 300 in the bay area.

Her thread, which has entertainment value if its own: https://www.ninjette.org/forums/show...28&postcount=7

My bad. I read your location as Marysville, CA. I'll delete the mention but leave the rest of the response as is.

Last futzed with by algs26; June 21st, 2014 at 11:23 PM. Reason: removing mention because I got the wrong state
