Brian, you are from Boston. If you can't find a girl in Boston you're gay.

Boston and San Fran are sister cities.

With so many colleges in Boston there are enough girls to go out with a different one everynight and never run out of women. Believe me it's possible! I loved living there for that reason (and the great music).

Last I checked, college is about me paying a large sum of money to learn from people with more expertise than myself and earn a degree.

That's only the outer level of college, there is far more to it. College is whatever you make it and a lot of people make it revolve around partying and copious amounts of sex. It's the perfect time for it really as you haven't really settled down or anything yet. Personally, I'm just using it as a time to try to better myself as much as I can and see what happens from there, as well as enjoying my 3 sports of choice. Snowboarding/MTB/Motorcycling.

Boston is not only scenic (you have to know where to look), it's historic!

Most professors I've had had more education, not expertise.

You need that happy balance of study and fun. It is more rewarding to participate in each for the full college experience.

oh boy @CC Cowboy and @Sirref, y'all really don't need to lecture me about getting from college what I put into it. But don't forget that I'm here for an education. Having fun happens on its own.

here's my list of sh!t:
  • Junior, Mechanical Engineering, 18 credits hours of classes.
  • Recruitment chair, social chair (dropping these after this semester) of my fraternity. We're the Delta Colony of Phi Gamma Delta. We're almost ready for our charter and it's been a blast.
  • Frame design, ASME Human Powered Vehicle. Can you say 'shop time'? This will also be my capstone next semester.
  • Student worker at the library 10 hours a week.
  • ONU Triathlon club. Kicks my butt 4 days a week in the pool and on the track.
  • MTB every weekend in my free time during the warm seasons.
  • Replaced all the components on my MTB frame since I've been forced inside during the winter. I have a full bike shop (minus wheel building equipment) in my apartment and a machine shop in the engineering building to make any tools I need.
  • Sleep? meh. Sometimes.
How's that for a balance of study and fun?

that's better than what I've got
My typical schedule, 4-8am work(mon-fri), 9-3 classes, 5-10/12 (depending on the night) work(this job 4x/week typically fri-mon with one shift tue/wed/thurs at random). Use ninjette across the day via laptop/phone. 18 credit hours in economics (boring ass **** hahaha) As money and time free themselves up I go snowboarding in the winter/mtb in the summer and collect gear/parts for my bike year round as I can. My car is currently not functional though I may be able to buy the parts in the next few weeks and fix it myself. Oh and I commute 40 miles each way to get to school. commute roughly 15 miles to my morning job and 10 miles to my afternoon job (all these distances are from my home)

The vast majority of the time I am either working, working on schoolwork, riding my bike, or playing with my dog. I don't really have time to spend with my friends even though I would love to. The closest (geographically) friend to my home that I have lives 22 miles away.

This was today in good ol' Memphis, TN. It was 70 degrees and mostly sunny but then got cloudy. But hey, I'll gladly take these warm temps. A week ago today it was slightly above freezing for the high and snowing. Crazy weather. So I had to get out on the bike to enjoy this perfect day!

This is from Sunday when my fiancee caught up to me after we decided to pull over for a break (me still on the bike):

It'll start raining soon enough (late tonight I heard).
