Wow! I rode a whopping 3 miles for my burger.

So what kind of gas mileage do you get? I'd guess around 60 mpg up to about 70mph... What happens at 80mph sustained speeds?

Today, keeping it around 70 (65-75) I got 43.7 mpg. The time I rode from Winnemucca to Fallon 130 miles around 80, I bottomed out around 35mpg. Usually I average 52mpg between intown rides and 60-65mph rides to Carson or Reno (60-odd miles either way).

If I avoid the highway or interstate, I get over 200 miles out of a tank. But since its virtually impossible to do that living in the sticks, I fill up around 160-170 miles which tends to be around 3.5 or 3.8 gallons.

Oh, Nevadawolf, I see now you are talking about Eureka, NV. I got confused, as we have a Eureka here in the People's Republic of California also.
I rode to Fallon once as a teenager. I had just bought a Suzuki GS750. I lived in Pilot Hill, near Auburn, CA and made a long day ride of it. I remember seeing a hovercraft in someones front yard, and I think a WW2 PBY parked at a house somewhere along the way. I always see unusual things when I travel in Nevada, like the Little A-Le-Inn!

I would have expected a bit better mileage. On my pregen, I get around 60 mpg around town/some freeway riding. On my K75, I get around 40 mpg in mixed riding, but if I go for a 200 mile freeway ride, I'll get 48 mpg without the hardbags, 44 mpg with them. But it's a 750cc bike.

I haven't measured my Ninjette's mileage since changing exhaust (Yoshi full), but I do know that my 1340cc Harley Heritage gets 48 to 56 MPG (best and worst) Avg is 51. Probably because it is an Evo, not a twin cam.

Well mine is lugging around a heavily armored whale on its back, so I expect the mpg to be a bit lower than from someone who is actually a healthy weight.

My gas mileage is awesome if i keep it below 65, I want to say i was getting in the 60's with an occastional 70, but since my riding playground has expanded my mileage has suffered.

Yeah, Eureka NV, towards Utah.

I've stayed at the Little A'Le'Inn when I went to Rachel for a huge geocaching event. Meh, but it is the only thing nearby unless you are up to going to Alamo or Tonopah.

I always see weird **** in the desert. One of the best things i love about adventuring off the beaten path is those curiousities are quite abundant. But i like the old abandoned stuff better, one of the best was an old illegal dog track. Had fun motoring around that in the truck. The oddest has been a concrete slab in the edge of a valley with thin two-track roads going off of it. Look at it on a satellite image and its the center of a massive 15 mile radius "bullseye".

This is more a "this week" than a "today", but I learned how to scrape my peg feelers through the twisties without terrifying myself, and I managed to tip over (more or less harmlessly - see crash reports forum) going five miles an hour.

Did an oil change for the first time!

Fixed the crappy wiring job the guy did on the LEDs, including replacing the cheesy switch he had on there and rearranged them, wiring was technically not done by me because i SUCK at it:

Put on my new decals too:

Smokey supervised...

Love working on my bike in the living room...

I have a dirty dirty girl! And dirty girls are best dealt with naked!

Going to do a complete scrub down since I still have Black Rock Desert dust on the engine. Also discovered my Scottoiler had shifted and was dripping along every 48 seconds. The excess oil was gunking uo the front sprocket and my frequent trips offroad resulted in a primordial sludge that I think was just one lab accident away from wolf eating mutant ninja.

Installed the Two Brothers Juice Box! With no help from the man!
The injector plugs where a pain. Mostly because I'm to stubborn to take the FULL gas tank off.
Hopefully I can roll it out of the living room tomorrow for a ride to see how much better it is!

Think that's the longest ride I've done just to get a hamburger but OMG was it fantastic. Pony Express Deli in Eureka on Hwy 50 if you are ever out that way. Totally recommended.
I'll go about that far for some tasty oysters Thankfully it's an actual nice riding route too haha.

Went for a short ride after class today to blow off steam.

Went out for a test ride after the new mods. Feels amazing. Realized halfway through my blinkers weren't working lol. Time to chase that down, probably forgot to plug in a relay.

Today I:

Put all the fairings back on

Put the turn signals back on

Clean and lubed the chain.

Then went for my first ride since November. Sooo much gravel.

Took the girl out today.

Finally changed to synthetic after 4k. A little late, I know.

Guy made a left in front of me. Wasn't terribly close but still got the blood pumping. Was worst the other day when my rear lost traction after I reacted badly to another person making a left -- I was able to stop but I stalled out in the process.

Put about 50 miles on the Ninjette: rode up to Bellevue to do a drive-by of a house that will come up for sale in late summer. Traffic sucked on I-405 north through Renton, but rest of trip was pleasant. Ninjette rides great, but still getting used to 8k rpm at indicated 70 mph. Even with the slightly taller sprocketing, she's a bit of a screamer.

After Bellevue, lunch at Stimpy's, then mowed lawn. Grilled bacon cheeseburgers for dinner. All 'round, a decent day. Life is good.

Only 8K? Either my bike's not normal, you're a hypermiler, or you've done the sprocket mod. D:

Do have modded sprockets: one more tooth in front; one less tooth in back.

But my K75 is only turning 5k rpm at 68 mph (actual). It's all relative.

Went for a little 30 mile ride and bought gas on the way back: always seem to get 60 mpg (but don't go 80 mph like the NevadaWolf).

Cleaned the chain, swingarm, shock, tires and sprocket carrier.

Modified my stock wheel spacers and seals for less drag.

Changed the swingarm bearings and spacers.

Regreased a lot.

Sold my 300 and currently going through sellers remorse... But honestly I wasn't using her at all and I did need the money... Next purchase is going to be a super sport I hope... Or a Harley... Or maybe a tourer... Who knows...

Cleaned up my triple tree, widened up the gsxr shock, drilled new dampening holes for emulators, slotted the caliper bracket to make it captive, made some more spacers.

Damn you guys and all your fancy drill presses and bench grinders

Xtina and I had to grind our bloody gsxr shocks for over an hour with a dremel and file to get them to fit.

I used a mill, set the depth of cut made single pass, flipped shock, single pass.

Took all of 5 minutes to do 2 shocks.
