Want something CNC made?

Alex i didnt know where to put this so you can move it wherever youd like. Ill keep it simple, i know we have a lot of builders here so i figured i could offer some help. Not looking to get rich or really make much of anything, just offering simple stuff if anyone needs. Brackets, i could prob make rearset adjusters, but im not looking to put other companies out so lets not go there. It wont be quick turn around i imagine. My boss told me flat out when i get bored or slow to do whatever id like to keep my mind going, i asked, so i could make motorcycle parts if i want? His responce was make whatever youd like. Ive been a CNC programmer for years and my new position has given me the ability to ONLY program, i no longer have to run machines so i have a little more free time.

They would have to be mill parts, since our lathes run almost 24/7, but we usually have a free mill hanging around. I cant do huge parts, so just let me know something you may want and i can tell you if i can do it, or try to do it. I do a lot of prototyping but when i finish then i usually dont have a ton to do, so turn around depends on my current work load. Im not going to give dates or anything, im not going to charge up front, but if i could slowly get a nice list of parts going and save them on a USB then i figure it would be worth it. I havent extended this offer elsewhere, but ive been a member here quite a while and this community helps each other more so than others ive been a part of.

Thanks !

Could you mill, drill and thread aluminum all in one milling machine?

That is really nice of you to do. Great to have members here that can offer up things they are talented in.

At this time my problem is figuring out how to mount a GPS to my zx6r that isn't clumsy or gets in the way. Some people somehow mount to the steering stabilizer bracket by the clip-ons. If I find an example or think of an idea I'll get in touch. I bet you could make something out of metal that would be awesome. But so far I'm still figuring out where would be a good location, etc. that doesn't effect safety or gets in the way.

Maybe you could put together some lightweight aluminum race fairing stays?? That would be rad.

Or a whole new frame...

Since i dont have a large amount of time, nor do i plan on making sums of money, any design work by you guys would be great. Even a basic drawing would help. This doenst have to be ninjette specific either.

I agree on the steering stabalizer, its something i would actually like to do.

Race fairing stays? sound like a small part, which is 100% doable

Hernan, yes, i can mill, drill, profile, thread, threamill etc. THe main machine that is usually available is a horizontal mill with full 4th axis.

Would an AutoCAD drawing help you?
If so, what version?

Sorry about the many questions, your idea has made my rusted brain gears spin again.

Thanks Jay, what an awesome offer.

Who knows, maybe I'll shoot you some dxf files. I have started a section on my blog for downloadable Ninja gaskets. They are DXF files converted to PDF. Your offer may come in handy for making hard to get replacement parts.

Autocad files would be great, inventor, etc all fine. I just convert them to a step file and import them into mastercam.

Those risers are do-able for sure as well. Thats the type of stuff im looking to do. I am not here to make engines, entire rearset assemblies (although pieces im fine with), triple trees, etc. All that stuff is just too large and time consuming. If i do anything i will also ship you back the raw aluminum. You can send it for powder coating or annodizing or whatever youd like.

I'll get some dimensions for the superbike bar conversion and see what I can do about getting a cad file made. They are a very great idea, and I'm needing some!

Amazing offer. Did anyone ever take you up on it?

It may be kinda big, but what I'd love to see is a replacement top triple clamp for the 250F that looks more like the 250J/K/L and 300. You know: flat face with a portion surrounding the ignition cylinder.

It could fit 250J/K/L and 300 handlebars with the right spacing for the bolt holes. The F clamp has steps on the side so that the base of the handlebar risers sit flush with the face of the clamp. Because the riser piece needs to be longer for the same resulting height, it looks bad. It also forces clipons with risers intended to mount below the clamp to sit even lower such that the rise is not enough.

I had a member who wants some clip ons for a pre gen as well, i havent forgotten him, but i simply dont have a pregen to get measurements with. I was not able to get my friends bike over the winter like i had planned, and now he commutes with it. If someone has a spare triple, i can see if i can even do it. It may be too large honestly.

Im currently doing brackets for the front caliper on 250/300s to use GSXR calipers, or brembo with a larger rotor, small and simple - relatively.

I have a pregen in Ansonia CT for a guinea pig, there is a CNC file too for the pregen lowered risers somewhere here on ninjette.

Emulators would be tricky only because the lathes are at 100% capacity all the time, so i wouldnt have time to get in there. We also dont use solidworks, so i cant open those files. The few lathes that have open time, are not easy to setup, no quick change those suckers. Mills (to me) are much easier since i can set it up while they are running their normal jobs, so there is minimal time for me to be in there.

The member who wanted clip ons did not want risers, he had a design to sit farther forward and basically in line with the top of the triple.

Far from it, just doing what i enjoy and helping where i can. Im going to try to get 2 of those new tokico adapters done today, one for myself, and one for Rebecca to try on her 300. I think i swung it out far enough to bite the entire rotor. Once i verify that, ill get the rest done.

More than likely, like the ones int he other thread or similar. I really just need bolt spacing dimensions, the fork tube OD and how much it sticks up.
