Need wiring help for new turn signals
Recently purchased these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
There's one black wire and one black wire with a white stripe. Which wires do I connect into the green wire and black wire with yellow stripe? Edit: Also, the new turn signals kinda had a ball shape for the connecter to I smushed it with a pair of pliers. Is that bad? Double edit: So I tried both ways, but when I turn on the signal, my taillight makes a sound like it's releases pressure. My taillight is an LED with intergrated turn signals. The turn signals blink faster. Which didn't happen before. |

My guess would be the black/white wire is the positive and the black is the negative. On our bikes the green is positive and the black/yellow negative.
Do you mean you squished the bullet connector at the end of the lights? How were you planning on connecting them? You either need to order an OEM connector for the Ninja (be REALLY careful on so called OEM ones from eBay, they could be too large or reversed) or you need to clip the connector off the bike side and solder on the female side of whatever you choose. If I read right that the bullet connectors are now squished, you may need to get both male and female ends and solder those on.

Do you still have the original turn signals?
If you are gentle, you may be able to pull the wires and the brass connector out from inside the OEM male part, then clip the bullet connectors off the new lights, and solder the wires to the brass piece you pull out. That's how I ended up getting my new LED lights in.

Unfortunately, I only have the right hand turn signal. The left hand turn signal got ripped off and was unable to be found.

Re the blinking faster: were the originals stock and the rear LED and the new ones LED? You may need a diode to help.
What relay do you have? Re connecting the new lights: since you are getting the OEM light back later, we'll need to figure out a way that doesn't screw up the connection for those lights. Trying to think if tapping into the wires behind the connector would work.

The originals were stock and the new ones are not LED and the taillight is LED, so assumed I wouldn't have an issue. My main concern is the sound that is happening when I turn on the signal. The right one is fine and doesn't make a sound, but the left one does with the new signal. I'll have to get it on video either the end of today or tomorrow.
I'm not sure on the relay, the previous owner(s) installed the taillight. At this point, I'm really tempted just to turn the bike into a streetfighter. |

I had issues when I had LED rear lights and incandescent front lights. Turned out my Napa relacement relay was at fault and needed to get an actual Tridon EP34 one.

What does it sound like again?
I've not heard of lights making noises, any buzzing, clicking, popping type sounds I have heard from the relay. If you have long arms, stand between the relay and tail light and hit the switch to narrow down what is making the noise. Or... Post a video up like you already are planning.

FYI, you can embed youtube videos by using the tag [ youtube ] and the video id.
So in this case: [ youtube ] e-q4FWAxEeU [ /youtube ] (but without the spaces) And yep, that vrrrrp just before the blinkers kick in is the relay making the noise. However I am not sure if its because of low resistance, high resistance, or what solves it? Uhhhh?

This may be a dumb question. But can rear turn signals be used as regular signals? I'm seeing more rear turn signals for a sale and they look like they have the same connection type.

The stock signals?
Yeah, front and rear are identical with the same connector. If you care about such things, the only "difference" is the little drain hole. So the rear right would become the front left, etc.

in regards to the oem connector, you need to buy this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kawasaki-OEM...032d87&vxp=mtr these connect right to the wiring harness that is currently in the bike, then connect the bullet connectors of the blinkers to the inserts on this adapter. and then you should be all set. |
