Newb Troubles

Just thought I'd share some of the "problems" I've been having with my Ninja, and the easy fixes...

-Bike losing power, stalls, won't restart

Petcock set to off (I've done this twice now)

-Bike stalls immediately after putting into gear

Kickstand still down (I knew it was down, just doing things out of order... and confusing myself)

-Bike stalls at redlights randomly, lights flicker

Loose battery connection, just tightened it up

That petcock switch in the off position got me a lot, especially when I'm in a hurry. I just have to remember to take my time.

That first one still gets me now and then even though I've been riding quite a while, usually due to sheer absentmindedness or rush.

Last week, I was running low on fuel and knew the impending sputter and stall wouldn't be more than a mile or two off. At the next stoplight, I swapped it over to reserve (well thought I did...) to try and keep it from happening in traffic. About a half mile down the road (on a steep hill to boot) the engine sputtered to a stop.

I had turned the petcock to off instead of reserve... Go me.

That's happened to me a couple of times leaving school. We should be glad the sensor still works though!!

Yeah I forgot the petcock once the first month. Ran out of gas in a corner. Never forgot it again since then!
