Guinness or most German or Belgian beers. Guinness tip #2: don't drink the head off of the top, it should stay there all the way to the bottom. Takes the bitterness out and makes it creamy to die for.

Wines, fruity and dryish and anything from 2009 - what a great year!
Don't usually drink anything from California and will never touch anything Mondavi has screwed with.

Try white wines from Friuli in Italy. Buy one to test first and if it's great, buy the case cos it'll disappear quick! Best and worst wines come from there. Worth always checking because the good is not just good it's spectacular.

Good thread, taking notes :-)

It's alright I guess. For the price, I went for something else when the 6 pack was gone.

I don't like hoppy beers anymore; I prefer them malty, sweet, and/or fruity haha. Off the top of my head: wheat beers, hefs, porters, stouts, belgian ales, belgian lambics, pear ciders...

Side note: I only just discovered this section of the forums lol.

I tried Southern Tier's 2Xmas today. Pretty damn good, even for this loyal IPA fan.
I enjoy a change of pace with the darker holiday brews. The local micro-brewery here has a delicious Abbey Ale on tap. Anyone try any favorites lately?

If I drink "suds" then it's usually Guiness Stout.

If I'm in the mood for "Grape Juice" then an Italian red like Chianti or Volpicelli gets the nod.

Usually though I drink Rye Whisky preferably Willets 101. Three fingers in a bucket, thank you!

Favorite Beer:

subject to change as I discover more craft beers but magic hat #9 is still a damned good beer.

Favorite Liqueur:

with a close second of grey goose, both work wonders.

Favorite Mixed Drink:

Irish trash can: 1/2 oz gin, 1/2 oz light rum, 1/2 oz vodka, 1/2 oz peach schnapps, 1/2 oz Blue Curacao liquor, 1/2 oz triple sec, 1 can Red Bull energy drink. Fill glass with ice, then add all liquors and stir. Add full can of Red Bull. The can will float and slowly seep down the glass, turning the mix green, hence the name Irish Trashcan.

Favorite Wine: I have very little experience here but I like cabernet sauvignon.
