Talking My son just finished his first race video!

My son Zack has been helping me with the GoPro's for several races now and has been asking if he could work with my editing software of which I said yes of course.

Well despite working two jobs and helping me at the track, his determination had him working on this video in his spare time and this week he was happy to tell me that he finished his video I really like the song too!

So I share with you all, Zack's first race video!
(if you have a facebook account, perhaps you could view it on his page and gime him a "Like" and maybe he will be so jazzed he will do all my videos so I can practice my napping and show Ernie how it's really done! )

Yeah racegunnr, I feel your pain! But at 50 years old, I can only fool some of the people some of the time, but not when getting on and off an R6 since I am only 5'6" and old and fat

Hi Kevin. Yes we have sponsors and supporters and we try to maximize their exposure through our videos and promos to show our appreciation for their support.

Thanks for asking.

What steps did you guys take to get sponsors? Those are some really high profile companies you guys represent

Kevin,
Having had a previous race career, I was not completely ignorant of the process but after 21 years away from racing, most of my contacts had retired or passed on.

However, I had fairly decent finishes my first year back and with the support of GoPro cameras, we were able to market ourselves very well via videos from each round.

I will say that a lot of thanks go to GoPro whom I contacted after purchasing several cameras. I presented an idea to them and they responded back saying this is how we can help. After several discussions, an agreement was made and the next race I made a video from the views of about 6 motorcycles!

From there, it really has been a surprise to me about how fortunate I have been with obtaining either sponsorship or support.

I will tell you that being professional in appearance whether at the track or on a forum is critical. Showing the sponsor that you are not just taking product, but actively working to bring them more customers is helpful as the more they sell, the more they can support.

Also, taking the time to thank them at the end of the year is very important and probably very high up the list in regards to having them think positively about you for the following year. I personally made pictures and then framed them and delivered them to the sponsors during the holidays.

And of course, placing well only goes to help your cause for industry sponsors. But me being 50, old, a little overweight, and a top 10 rider, it's not the only thing.

Keep in mind that typically any sponsor wants exposure. They give you support, and it's your job to promote each and every chance you get (like in our videos )

Hope this helps.
