road trip from Vail, Co to Kalamazoo, Mi

So in less than 3 weeks im going to be taking a nice month long bike trip. I plan on bringing my hiking tent and zero degree sleeping back and hittin back roads the whole way. Just took the bike to the shop to check it out and see how she is running before i head out. Im gonna pull the trigger on a new rear tire ( my side wall has small crack in it) but other than that the mech said my bike looked brand new.

I thought i would post this a bit early to see if anyone had any advise or wanted to jump in on the trip along the way. Realistic i was gonna try to cruz between 6- 10 hours a day but open to all suggestions.

I am bringing my laptop and go pro and other cameras so i will be hopefully updating this along the trip as i go.

Plan on rollin out of here on the 27 of april and spending day or 2 in denver and then making haul on this trip

How are you planning on packing all your stuff on the bike...the camping gear takes up so much room.....I am unsure how to make it work for touring.....

You, your bike, and the open road. I can't think of a better way to spend a month.

Me, my bike and the open road; then me, the airplane, and the open skies

Ride to the airport, fly for a bit, ride home.

You will regret a backpack after a few hours.

forget the laptop and go pro crap. Tank bag with your weapon, medicine bag, camera and map, strap down a tarp with some basics on the back with rope to make shelter and to keep some water/snacks. Enjoy the ride. A month is a nice trip to experience the ride. Congrats

something like that... Gona be a tight fit but i think its gonna happen.. maybe like 2 more bungee nets to hold it all togather... I plan on strapping the back pack onto the tail and only really throwing it on my back when i need too.

(sleeping bag, one person tent, clothes, extra shoes and other not needed stuff like the laptop) all pictured

Anything that is under the tail section is going to get filthy. Get a tank bag in stead of the back pack.

Josh! You need some Rox straps really bad. Bungies and nets are not going to get it done. Your load needs to be combat ready....weight down low, minimize the sail area, and all rock solid so no shifting when you lean it over or are moving down the road at 70!

These bikes will do 70? That's so cool!

When riding a motorcycle for a month on the road you really want to spend the money. It will make the trip much easier and more enjoyable. Plus, you can use the gear for future trips. It's easier to spend it before you leave rather than while your on the road. Be prepared and it will be rewarding.

Cheap alternative. ...about 30 bucks cheaper than motorcycle superstore and way cheaper than having to buy new gear when it comes off the bike
