the painful wait of a new bike
The time until the driving course (25th)...it kills me. Should I do the writen test first? Someone take me for a ride!
edit: someone let me practice on their bike!

You got to be crazy asking a question like that in here? No, I don't live in the gutter. I just visit there when someone forces me to think like that.

Are you talking about your license test or an MSF course? I know I was pretty excited to get my MSF course over with, as upon adequate completion you get a waiver for testing for the endorsement. Now my waiting pains are for the actual purchase of the bike. Having no credit, I have to wait for a shared day off with my cosigner, which isn't until next week.
I feel your pain, haha. It'll soon be over though. I'll cross my fingers for you! |

I don't know if Newfounland has the same motor vehicle laws as New Brunswick but you need to pass your written test before you can pass your licence. In the Gear Up (similar to MSF) program here everyone that wanted to try out for their motobike licence at the end of the course needed their beginners (paper from Motor Registrar indicating you passed your written test).

The earlier you get your written test, the earlier you get your licence and the earlier you get to ride your bike.

im in the waiting process as well i bought my bike over a month ago, but it has been sitting around. i originally was signed up for the class on june 26, but i missed it because of really bad traffic & weather that day. so the next opening isnt until oct 2nd.. so now i sit and wait though i have taken the bike out a few times around the neighborhood with a very cautious eye for the cops

I'm excited for my MSF course as well; starts this Wednesday. Unfortunately I lost my wallet 2 days ago so I'm waiting to hear back whether or not they will accept my interim license..
I tried to get my friend to let me ride his bike too

Welcome to the boards!
Ottawa has had scattered showers for the last 3 weeks... this afternoon there was a break in the clouds and I was able to get out and enjoy a couple of hours of the sunny afternoon! Did you happen to get the same luck i did?

I received my bike on Thursday and although there have been small windows of sun, it's rained every day since. The forecast for the coming week is currently as follows:
Monday - Scattered T-Storms Tuesday - Isolated T-Storms Wednesday - Scattered T-Storms I almost feel responsible for this awful weather in the Toronto area.. |

I am in the same boat with the weather. Ever since I brought my bike home (in April) it's been rain. Everyone keeps telling me to bring it back so we can finally have summer. I love it to much though.

Weather here is flawless for riding... hopefully I'll be picking up my bike tomorrow and I can finally start riding!! I got an itch to hop on my soon-to-be 250 thats worse than a mosquito bite!
edit: I gotta admit, I love the rain though..

A friend just asked me how I was finding the bike and I just told him I think I'm inlove lol. I know exactly how you feel. Did you get to ride after? I went on 2...I'm still getting a feel for this and I have a lot of work to do inbetween but I had 2 sunny days so I figured I'd at least take it down the road a bit. Next stop: Figure out how this whole watching rpm/using clutch correctly/breaking correctly/blinker that doesn't automatically turn off/placement on the road/gear changing thing works all together at once. Man, if you can ride a bike you should be able to become a pretty good drummer.

Definitely rode it afterwards! Hell I can barely stay off the thing, I'm clockin in some major hours and loving every minute of it. I do admit some of it can take a while to get used too; I still forget to turn my blinker off half the time...
