I'm it's just me cause it's just me.

What is the purpose of a windshield if you can't see through it?

Take it off, let me know if you feel a difference. I know I sure did. (Wasn't quite dry when I was painting it and had to go somewhere)

Really though, it moves the air up and off your chest, or even up over most of your head (depending on the windscreen and your size).

I've ridden with one on and off and felt the same upto 75+ mph. THEN if i had it on i could tuck behind it, which i don't do cause i bartered it and my helmet is designed to accomplish the same thing and does.

Yah, our older ninjette's windshield doesn't deflect the wind quite as much as the new-gens. I know for me it only rally helps block the wind if I'm fully tucked in behind it. Even then I can still see pretty good over it. Mine isn't painted, but is the older factory made dark screen.

When was the last time you tucked down far enough to actually need to look through the windshield? I'm 5'7" 150lbs and in my most tucked position possible, I'm looking just over my windshield.

Indeed!

Full Tuck - When the chin area of the helmet touches the tank, you just very well find yourself looking through the windscreen.

Okay. well touché. In that case, then, for those of you who actually look through your shields, by all means, leave them clear. For those of us who never find the need to get that low, and like that look, paint those bitches!

I only use mine for a camera, so i put Ninja 250R vinyls on it to prove that the video was shot from a 250

FTR, a camera does fine through a dark smoke ZG 2(bubble) as long as it's not gloomy or dark out

A windshield is designed to shield you from wind.

Bingo, and you need that protection most of all at higher speeds, when you also need buffeting (neck) protection, hence the need to see through the screen. As someone with grey matter stated, "I'll take mine clear."

I think maybe I have a fat head. When im in full tuck (yes, head on tank) or at least what I suspect to be full tuck, I can just barely see over the windshield.

Even when not in full tuck looking through shield, it does help with wind buffeting and keeps me a bit dry(er) in the rain. Also, it is a useful place to put my parking sticker for work.

the stock windscreen is pretty crappy at wind buffeting, but if you upgrade to a DB, Sport touring, or Corsa. you will really notice the difference when riding on the highway. you won't have to tuck as much to avoid the wind hitting you up in the chest area. it makes highway riding more leisure like, as you don't have to stay in a tuck position for long periods of time.
