Smile Don't know which slip on exhaust I should get???

Hello I am looking into getting a slip on exhaust for my 2009 ninja 250. Any suggestions. I don't want an overly exaggerated loud sound just a clean semi loud sound

What's your price range?

I would recommend these slips ons as they're all under $300:

Leo Vince Carbon Fiber SBK GP Corsa

Danmoto Carbon GP

And the Hotbodies MGP Growler. I just installed one on my bike and it sounds amazing. definitely not quiet though, it's noisy!

All aftermarket slip on's are going to be much louder than the stock 250.

There are quite a few. Check out the youtube videos of ones you're interested in. I personally like Area P and Akropovic. Both have a nice sound and aren't too loud.

I would save a extra $200 or so and get a full exhaust system. That way you pick up more power and get the looks, clearance, weight savings, and all the other advantages!

I am happy with the FMF that came on my 09 Ninja 250. You can buy it in carbon fiber and titanium and the price is reasonable. I've had good luck with Akrapovic and Yoshimura exhausts on other bikes. I've also owned Muzzy and Two Brothers Racing but they were definitely louder than the others.

I just ordered the M4 Carbon slip on. I will let you know how it sounds when it comes in. I really liked the look of the M4 and it sounded awesome to me

Keep reading the same thing about a full system so it's hard to choose since I want it now lol

I had the Danmoto on my old bike. It was loud but i liked it, and for 130ish you cant beat it.

You can always get heads later.

Going to need more than an extra $200 to get a full exhaust system running properly.

This is what I thought, but not true. There is only one company that sells just the header, but it does not fit other brands. I am SOL on that one. Plus after another $200-300 you have to rejet for $70, plus another $300 if you can't do it yourself.

Couldn't you bring the stock headers to an oxhaust shop and the could fabricate a new one or cut out the cats in it? Is that not the same as aftermarket headers?

It is, just don't know how much that would cost, good idea though. I will try contacting a couple places. If i had a welder and pipe bender I could prob do it myself, but alas I don't.
