Brand new rider from South Florida

Hello,

I'm Samer. I just bought my new Ninja 250 (2009 SE) today (Friday). I actually rode on a real road for the very first time! Amazing feeling.

My friend, who's been riding for many years and owns a Ninja 1000, came with me to the dealership. Then he drove his truck behind me just to make sure I was O.K. Great thing cause I stalled it on start a couple of times. I drive a manual transmission car, but still getting used to the bikes friction zone.

After I made it home, he went back and swapped his truck for his Ninja and we went on a nice little ride down some back roads. I put about 50 miles on it.

Hope to learn a lot from this community, and hopefully contribute as well!

Yes. I took the MSF twice actually (passed both times). The reason is that I had this sudden urge to get a bike, so I took the MSF and passed, then I figured I needed to have a garage and we were living in a condo...

Anyway, so more than a year went by and I didn't go to the DMV to get an endorsement. DUMB!!! So I took the course again a few weeks ago, same instructors. We also moved to a townhouse with a garage.

I'm definitely a believer in ATGATT. I have an HJC full face helmet and a leather motorcycle jacket with armor and Kevlar gloves. I guess the exception is that I had sneakers on. I'm thinking of getting some cool looking Joe Rocket racing style street bike boots. Expensive, but I guess my ankles are worth more

Welcome Samer! Do you have riding pants as well? It's great that your friend was willing to ride behind you in his truck I know that when I have my hubby driving along behind me, it makes me feel much more confident, as it's one less place I have to watch for idiots!
