We live in a strange world, surrounded by strange people. With enough of a 'detached' perspective, each and every strange act makes sense in it's own way.

It has been said before with good reason --- 'the more people I meet, the more I find that I enjoy the company of my motorcycle.'

Somewhere between 1975 and now, the world became broken. Being a normal, decent human being is weird and having common sense is a damn super power. :\

I have been saying this for years. If I could trace it back to any one thing, I would try, but there have been so many factors at play I can't even begin to zero in one any one particular thing that caused it.

I think the 'media' has been a major proponent of social change in this country at the minimum. Things didn't used to be so graphic and gory -- yet, 'in your face' and undeniable at the same time. The sort of 'coverage' which people receive when strange things happen causes people to come to conclusions and form new understandings of the world that didn't use to happen until much later on in life.

Sad to think that I'm the last generation of children who used to look forward to "playing outside."

I also attribute the changes between 1975 and now largely to drugs. I don't discriminate when I use the term "drug." --- I understand it to mean "any molecular compound, synthetic or naturally occurring -- which has a pronounced psychoactive effect."

Feels to me like our country (amerikka) runs not only on fossil fuels, but also upon caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, and sugar. These are the forces which have overshadowed common sense and rational human judgement. Simple; yet HIGHLY underestimated molecular compounds in terms of their powerful affect on the delicate balance within the human psyche.

That AND -- We seem to live in a desensitization culture -- each and every day people feel as if it's somehow a contest to be more dramatic than their other fellow members of society. That's how the ego seems to work. People don't seem to feel as if they are doing things correctly unless they feel like the center of attention.

If you look at things from the more scientific and detached perspective of a social scientist -- from the perspective that humans are indeed no different from any other animal on this planet regarding their behavior within their societies and culture; one may come to the conclusion that ghandi was indeed correct.

Money is power and befriending women is to have affluence.

Excuse me I have a very short attention span due to the energy drinks wearing off and I'm leaving now in search of my next dopamine quick fix so I can feel powerful and in control of my existence again.

That, and.

Ey, don't come near me buddy or I'll whack you with a stick. Personal space! Personal space!

In all seriousness you may indeed know me in a different sense. I'm here in spirit. I'm the presence that you feel standing behind you as you are reading this. When you turn around to look, I have vanished. When you awake in the midst of a nightmare, I'm the presence sitting calmly in the darkest corner of the room quietly humming to reassure you. Don't turn your head to look for me, or again; I'll vanish. I'm the asshole standing too close to you in walmart with bad breath, but when you turn around to say something I am nowhere to be found. I'm the glimmer in the corner of your eye, and you know for a fact that I am right there with you. Yet, as soon as you look around for me -- I am nowhere to be found. Omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent.

I concur.

Snot is indeed the cause of all the world's problems. I'm speaking figuratively, metaphorically, literally, and existentially.

We're a democracy. The idiocracy of our society is the reason those people got elected in the first place. (Although, there is the electoral college, but anyone who doesn't obey their constituents is essentially committing political suicide, anyway.)
