And I like my coffee like my women. Hot and trapped inside a small metal container.
But seriously, just ordered the perf in a size 50 (US 40). I'll keep y'all posted. Might still swap it for the textile version you never know. |

For $300-$400, what would you guys recommend?
My requirements: - Must be perforated leather (I currently have a textile Joe Rocket jacket that's too hot when it's over 85 degrees). - Must have CE rated shoulder & elbow protection - I prefer a jacket that can flow air during the summer (I'll layer up during winter with my textile jacket). I was looking at this: http://www.revzilla.com/product/icon...leather-jacket Any opinions? Anything better (in terms of protection and airflow) you can think of in the $300-$400 price point? |

The GP-R is a great jacket. I recently ditched wearing my mesh jacket in favor of the full leather after reading this thread on hot weather riding. By comparison the perf leather is downright tolerable (I'm riding in 110 heat here in Phoenix). A good quality jacket is well worth the dent in the wallet. The quality feels light years ahead of my old Joe Rocket. I cringed a little at the cost when I got it but have never looked back. |

I have been shopping around for gear since I started ridding
I have always gotten the best deals on CL buying slightly used jackets Try for A* on there? I have bought 4 Icon Jackets on cl and they all were in good shape. 2 leathers 1-85$ 1-100$ my Ti-Max -60$ and a mesh hooligan for 40$ I got a 10% discount on a Leather Icon I bought for my gf by calling to order and then asking if there was anything they could do for the price(sportsbikegear.com). Sometimes they can help. I have 8 helmets - and the only one that cost full price was the one that my gf got me for valentines day last year! one of Icons newer graphics - Thats LOVE for you! I got a brand new HJC from a fella who broke up with a girl. He wanted it gone as he had bought it for her and was going to give it to her…. and she dumped him before it came in. oh well - search for deals because tag price is FREAKING INSANE these days

I personally would've gotten the Jaws over my Assailant, but it's a newish jacket i think. I'm a fan of removable liners for a more universal temp jacket. |

I have a gp plus r perf jacket. It flows air vary well, if it's below 70 the jacket is too cold.

I know this will be in a total different league. But have you guys owned Bilt leather jackets or leather pants? Or know anyone who wear Bilt gear?
They are considerably less expensive (under $200 for a leather jacket). I'm just worried about the "you get what you paid for" price point. Your thoughts on BILT jackets & pants? |

I personally would never trust my body or skin in Bilt gear. When it comes to my body/limbs, I don't do cheap. I also don't risk riding, unless I'm adequately covered.

Joe Rocket. Hands down. Not only do I love the looks of all their gear, but I can safely say that the jacket holds up nicely. The textile one that I crashed in still looks absolutely brand new and shows no signs of a crash. They're also cheap to buy!

I've been riding in my rev'it Phoenix jacket with a sas tec protector for 3 years now with no complaints, tears, broken zippers or faults. I also have a rev'it race jacket that is also great quality.
Lower end brands (icon, joe rocket, s&s) have their stuff made by the lowest overseas bidder so the quality can be inconsistent. I've had icon and s&s jackets and my girl has a jr. Out of all of them the icons were the ones falling apart. Moral of the story, my fav brand is Rev'it for jackets. At least until I purchase a dainese. |

Its this one. http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/r...textile-jacket in black. Let me know. I upgraded from this to a RS Taichi Leather jacket. |

I tried a scorpion jacket, the nip tuck, and the fit and comfort just wasn't there. I picked up a older Cleo 2.0 and i'm much happier. Fits well and the air flow is much better. I'll probably get a shiny new one next year. I also have Joe Rocket gloves.
