Hello from Harrisburg, Oregon

I'm Scott. My wife and I just bought a 1992 Ninja 250 with 3700 miles on it. The previous owner customized the bike a bit with a new coat of silver paint, blue powder coated wheels, a blue seat, and clear tail lights. He did the rear fender delete, which looks nice and clean. He also removed all the reflectors, which isn't a mod that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy with the days getting shorter.

Here are some pictures, now that it is home:

It looks a little plain without the usual "Kawasaki" and "Ninja" stickers. I figured I would kill two birds with one stone by putting on retroreflective stripes on the sides, and the usual "Ninja" and "Kawasaki" decals too.

We bought this bike mostly for my wife, because she's interested in learning to ride. Also, I bought a "project" motorcycle this spring that hasn't come together as quickly as I'd hoped, so I get to ride the little Ninja around until she gets her endorsement. I'd better have my old bike running by then, or I'll be SOL.

I just finished a 90 mile ride this morning before it got too hot. It runs flawlessly.

Interesting color scheme! I would imagine there is some great roads with scenery out there in Oregon! What kind of project are you working on?

Thanks. The blue powder coated wheels and blue custom upholstered seat and blue chrome screw heads make for the beginnings of a nice look. The guy who did it put on custom mirrors from, I think, a mid-Nineties BMW M3. To counter the complete removal of all the reflectors I bought some blue retroreflective tape to recreate the OEM style triangles of color on the fairing and sides. I also bought some decals to give it a more complete look. I have to wait until the evenings after work next week to begin putting them on because we have company this weekend.

Yes, we have lots of beautiful roads here. It's a little like the Hill Country in Texas. I live in a big valley here, and we have lots of beautiful farm roads too.

The project is a 1987 Yamaha FZ700 with the Genesis 5-valve engine. That reminds me, I need to check up on a guy in Florida selling some parts I need....
