Red face Back on the Road!

Hi All!

I am giddy to say that I am back into this wonderfully sweet world of motorcycles and riding. Finally! *phew*

I bought my first bike ('05 Ninja 500rr) when I was 18 and fell hopelessly in love. Unfortunately, my love affair was soon after ended due to financial distress and my first child. Fast forward several long, agonizingly bike-less years and my husband whisked me away to purchase the love of my life, '10 Ninja 250r. *swoon* We had one glorious summer together and then I was restricted again. Darn children needing to be born...

This summer, two weeks after our second child was born, I was able to get back onto the bike and start riding again. While I have been able to get about 1,200 miles under my belt this summer alone, I still consider myself to be newer to bikes. I'm hoping to get ideas, tricks, and tips out of this forum. As well as being able to drool over other 250s.

Future maybe? We are looking into going for a 300 in a couple years and converting my 250 to be straight track. I'll be doing my first track day this coming year and am excited! Plus, I might brave St. Helen's if I'm feeling confident enough.

Oh man, I sure wish it was allowed! I'm excited that my oldest just turned 5 this year so she can finally legally ride. Let her pick out her own helmet as a birthday present!

And to throw it out there, guess what Santa brought me?! EFI kit and frame sliders! Can't wait to put them on myself. I had to tell hubby he was banned from putting them on because it's my toy and my project. Can't wait to get the garage back in order so I can get started!

never a bad thing to retain stock parts but yeah I know airbox/carb removal is a bitch on the 08+ 250. It was no where near as bad on my 87 250R.
definitely post some pics and keep us up to date on the progress, i assume this is the ecotrons kit?

Yes, this is the ecotron install kit. We are making progress, slowly but surely. I'm pretty sure this could have been knocked out in one full day but we have had to do short spurts once kids are in bed at night.

So far I've gotten to attaching the wiring harness and crafting a new spot for the cdi replacement. Need to make a run and grab hose clamps and a cap before we can start it. Obviously still need to do the O2 sensors and map it after running it (the install instructions say something to that effect). Took another detour while everything is off and am going to install my new Shogun frame sliders and Yoshimura exhaust! Planned for tomorrow!!

And yes, I keep frustrating my husband when he tries to give advice I'm not wanting. I don't care if it took me an extra 45 minutes, I got the carbs out MY way... Sooo excited for this project to be compete. I think I might do a write up once it's complete, I've been taking pictures as I go.

Pre-start from last night. Before getting wiring harness routed and frame sliders attached. Can't wait to post my completed bike!

Good job!! Another ecotrons user! I love mine. I'm so close to having it perfect.

PM me when you've had some time in learning mode and it seems to be running smoothly. I've got a rich map and ignition timing map that I've been working on and have proven to work. The only thing you need to do that's specific to your bike is the warm-up values.

You can read some more on that in the last few pages of this thread: http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showt...=96942&page=27

Feel free to ask questions and see what others have done with their installs as well

I can tell you haven't been married long. At about the 10 year mark, you'll look at what she's doing, shrug and walk away. Wives generally will do things the way they want things done and only ask for help when things get waaaaaay out of control. Ask me how I know.
