Light Offroading

Lately I'v found myself exploring places off the pavement on my street bike. Nothing crazy, just construction sites, railroad trails, etc.

Does anyone else do this?

You should talk with @eddiekay. He likes going on dirt/unsaved roads.

Hah....on an FZ6....that's how i started. I love when you gotta rev it to 12k to get over a twig. The scenery I liked best was the quarries that had roads to the bottom. My only prob messin around off the pavement was that sometimes the path would get narrower and narrower until you couldnt even attempt to spin the bike around on the stands and had to back down,,,,which was very hard given the weight and height of the seat. The FZ is a tall bike. I loved it.

You bet!!

Link to original page on YouTube.

This was before I fixed up my Ninja. Now I have a supermoto for light offroad use. But the Ninja can easily handle light offroad use.

Ive ridden the ninja down some dirt roads and such, would probably do fire service roads on it if I were down south, but pretty much any bike can do it lol

hard packed graded roads sure. washboard sucks. but wouldn't think of it in anything softer.

me and kevin take the sport bikes on the OHV trails all the time. good fun but not very nice on the suspension. it seems like every track day i wind up doing at least 60mph through the dirt... its all great fun but like i said horrible for the suspension hitting big bumps

Sweet I'm going to have to find more places to explore. It's actually pretty fun sliding around and what not. Just have to be careful with the clearance and to not get stuck.

In the first 30 seconds of video of me riding here you have pretty much every scenario of road you can think of, mud, grit, sand, moss, deep water, tarmac and grass.

All handle fine if you have your wits about.
