Drag raced it!

First time I've ever drag raced anything, plenty of race starts but drag racing was new.

Bike feels much better and I was actually able to hang with the other 250s wheres as my old motor/exhaust and tune would get left behind.

Link to original page on YouTube.

Drag raced ad Miata too.

Link to original page on YouTube.

Was running consistent 15.3 1/4 mile times (GPX Pro drag race data), but the 1/4 mile mark was right toward the end of the parking lot and it was sketchie staying on the gas that long.

Drained some Seafoam + E0 from 2012 from the tank and filled with new E0 + Seafom purchased today.

Reinstalled a blue peg I bought from eBay a couple years ago because I finally found a replacement M4 set screw (at Lowe's, no less!).

Played around and discovered that the Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive on my custom CDI cooling solution failed and my heat sinks fell off. You can tell that they never had good contact in the first place. I plan to try again with a lot of pressure if I can figure out how to clean off these old scrap PC heatsinks. The stuff is pretty much Arctic Silver thermal compound inside a hard-drying epoxy. Since I'm doing so much other electrical work on the bike I should probably stick some 40mm PC drive bay fans down there and set them up so that they only come on when the bike is running, but I hesitate to add moving parts. Airflow should already be much improved (no insulating rubber surround, mounted to Sportisi undertail with no molded obstructions using minimal perforated pieces I stuck on myself).

Took a ride around town and enjoyed myself until some punk in a 02 eclipse pulled up next to me at a light and revved his engine then pulled away from the line. Long story short, all he ended up doing was looking at my taillight.

Inspected front sprocket cover interior. Already there is fling-off from the chain. Arrrrrrgh!!! Then again, I may need to just clean and start over, since I did notice a bit of blue cleaner dripping off the front sprocket, which leads me to believe I didn't get all the cleaner off in the first place. Stuff I need to do tomorrow or Friday has been added to the list. Rrrrgh. Thank goodness for air compressors to aid in quick drying that front sprocket.

Rode to work this morning and had the headlights flash and burn out taking out the fuse with it, and having to ride the rest of the way to work with no headlights.

Got out of work and had to buy a new headlight and replace the fuse along with replacing a burnt out tail light that never seems to last very long.

I'd suggest an LED taillight but you might have more serious electrical problems.

Technically this was yesterday, but I rode her home from the station. The bike had zero gas in it and I forgot to carry some with me. Luckily I met a good Samaritan who sold me half a liter of fuel, just enough to get me to a pump.

I'm really unhappy with my brakes coz they are way too spongy for most of the travel. Zip tied the lever to help bleed out some of the air that's likely still inside. Can't wait to switch over to my up coming radial master cylinder and caliper mod

Adjusted my shift linkage to accommodate a pair of used riding boots a friend gave to me. It was getting late and I had to stop but I think I'll be able to really dial it in tomorrow.

While riding the bike through my neighborhood tonight I was struck by how freeing riding a bike is. Best purchase in a long time.

I was finally able to balance the wheels today after installing new tires last week. Ordered one of the Marc Parnes portable balancers and it is super slick!

This seems to have worked, will confirm after a ride. Brake lever no longer feels mushy tho, so that's a definite plus.

I installed a Yoshimura slip on exhaust. I bought this off a guy on the forums. See pic below. Put it on this morning and it sounds bad ass. I love how it sounds.

Rode around and did some errands. Due for another oil change and chain maintenance, already. I feel like I'm doing it every week. Maybe I need to stop going on 200+ mile rides every weekend, while using the bike as a daily driver.

Well it was not today but Saturday the 28th I replaced the rear shock with a new gen shock and installed Soupys dogbones. I also went ahead and serviced the Uni-track since it was off the bike. I raised the rear and it has changed the maneuverability. Lower speeds it is more agile and it handles better through turns. Much more to come.
