That's one good looking nekkid bike. What's the name/brand of the color, and where'd you get the light?

The headlight was pulled from a KTM Superduke, I created the mount for it and had it powdercoated. Turned out pretty good I think. |

You need more color there to break the monotony of the black/gunmetal... Get some red accents maybe?

Wow seriously, leave the bike whatever color you like. Why does everyone have such a boner for red just because it's a Ducati? Way to think different...
Like it as is

It's not the colour bro... The single colour doesn't bring out the best in the bike... He just needs to break the monotony of the grey/black... Doesn't mater which color he adds...

Ha your funny. I dumped around $800 into the bike and spent 6 months building it. If I ever sell it I will be going for full market value

Also, after seeing the bike in person I don't feel like these pictures to the bike justice. Professional photos to follow in the next few days. |

Considered painting the lettering on the side of the engine a black to match the frame? Would break up that mass of silver you have in the middle.

I like it. Funny how it's nearly identical visually to a brand new monster lol, I love how the designs of most naked bikes tend to be timeless.

I think the plain and simple dark look works fine on this bike. However, I bet an open clutch cover would look pretty BA on it, if it's a dry clutch that is

Clean the exposed case covers, throw an exhaust on it, grab a seat cowl and that beast is magazine worthy!

I definitely wanted to get an exhaust and seat cowl for it, but I ran out of money during my rebuild. May have to save those mods for version 2.0. |

Looks beautiful. Great job.
My neighbour has a Ducati Monster, and I went riding with him (for the first time) this last weekend. I have to say, it's a really nice machine, although he said that it does seem to be built to 'high tolerances' and he has it serviced every six months. |

You wouldn't believe how many others have given me this same feedback. I initially had a seat cowl in my budget, but I had to give it up in order to fund some other parts. This will be something I will eventually get once I can find one for an affordable price. |

Great deal.
Love the look. Either the previous owner had a lot of money or it's definitely his loss. Can you post everything you've done to the bike or will that be too much to list?

Funny story though... I performed the whole task in my bathroom since the bathtub drain was super convenient for rinsing, and I needed the environment to be climate controlled (was about 40' outside, and 50' in my garage at the time). My wife wasn't happy about me doing this, but I convinced her that it would be OK. At the very end I needed to dispose of the extra POR 15 lining that I had poured back out of the gas tank. I used I giant clear plastic lid from a fast food to-go box to pour it into. Little did I know that POR 15 will eat through this kind of plastic almost instantly (maga-fail). I grabbed the plastic lid and started walking towards the garage. Luckily for me there was only wood floor between the bathroom and the garage but I spilled POR all over me and the wood floor on the way to the garage. That stuff turned rock hard almost instantly. It became a quick 911 exercise to scrub the floors with steel wool, meanwhile filling my house with harmful VOCs. My wife was not happy! Our wood floors look perfectly fine now, just had to polish them slightly afterwards. There is still some gray speckles on our bathroom linoleum if you look really closely. Just a pleasant daily reminder of the sweat and tears that went into this project I hope that you get to experience the same thing someday. Really changes your outlook on vehicle ownership, and gives you a difference sense of pride in your accomplishments. Most people just appreciate their rides because it proves to everyone that they have cash in the bank. I love my bike because it proves to me what I am capable of learning. We are all capable of doing so much more than we think we are, if we would simply get over the intimidation factor. |

It's always a task sometimes when we don't have the appropriate container, tool, etc. POR15 is pretty hardcore which was I mentioned it must've been a pain as I chose to go the vinegar 1-2 week soak route on a slightly rusted tank that'd replace my busted one; environmentally friendly and I didn't have to deal with the local facility and the inconvenience of needing to drop it off. If you do anything else, let us know. You're guaranteed a bucket of jealousy among all of us.
