After the race he was quoted as saying he was just trying to get some gum off his boot. I guess it worked since he didn't have to do it again.

I mean, I've done the same thing at the track (clipping uneven apexes) but I'm on a 300 at the track and he's on a superbike on the streets of the IOM

For a TT rider it really is just a little misstep , no biggie.
Imagine yourself doing this. Your at the TT and sitting on a race preped 1000 cc superbike with two hundred horse power. The guy taps your back and you gun it for all its wiorth! first second ,third, forth ,fifth then sixth gear on a superbike at top RPM. You curve to the left at the bridge. The front forks take a hit and a speed wobble goes through as you straighten up. Now your still full pin as you go down Bray Hill. But now the RPM is headed for the rev limit. You scream down the hill and bend to the right. The force from the bottom of the hill compress the suspension till the Fairings scrape the ground. Now you go up the hill ,never letting off the throttle (notice 10.30 on the video).First the front wheel pops up at the top of the hill. Then as the video ends the wheel pops up again. There is a series of bumps leading to a mad right turn. If the wheel is on the ground over the bumps you will bottom the suspension and not make the turn. That is mile one of thirty seven miles you have to do twice.

eric, you speak as though you've ridden the isle of man. That's not common knowledge
also the video is 0:53 long, sure you watched the right one? Youtube autoplay can be annoying at times

If all you've ever ridden is a Ninja 250/300 then you don't really understand what these guys are doing. They really are on another level entirely. I bought an '05 GSXR 750 today. I carefully zipped around the guy's neighborhood on it. It feels heavy, steers heavy and has gobs of power. I was taking it easy and I'm sure the front wheel lifted at least twice. I can't yet imagine blasting through a village on the rev limiter trying to keep the front end down. Amazing. Mind blowing actually.

I will probably bring both bikes but I won't have enough time on the 750 to feel comfortable enough to track it. Maybe a couple of easy laps at the end of the day if I can.

I have never ridden the TT but I went in 2008 and spent two weeks there. The track is a dance and every move needs to be memorized and practiced. Every bump or crack can help or hurt yo. Remember this is not a race. It's a time trial. Racing a clock is much harder than racing a person.

Don't bother watching. They aren't even running 250s. All that other stuff is boring. Anyone can go fast on a big bike but to go fast on a 250 takes real talent!

When I read the title of the video it reminded me of an old video of Joey Dunlop. It was the first time a video camera was put on the tank and Joey rode around. He was giving commentary on the video and said as he went around the turn someplace. " I just let it slide till it hits the curbing then ride the curbing around. " the interviewer asked. How fast are you going when you do that Joey?" he replied "Not fast ,maybe a hundred miles and hour."It all boggles my mind.

speed is relative, the mind can be trained to adjust. Though I wonder if all minds can be trained, or if there are some that hit natural limits that cannot be surpassed.

It's all in the mind. The TT rider has a super human brain. Walking through the pit I listened to riders talking to mechanics. Things like" you need to tighten the slipper clutch up. I need the wheel to spin more." I was blown away looking at bikes with ground exhaust and side fairings. Moro GP tracks are not full of big bumps or jumps and man hole covers and curbs.
