My motorcycle is stored outside, need help for the war on bugs.
Now that it's getting warmer, bugs seem to want to use my Ninja as a home, predominately spiders. It's really good that I severely reduced my arachnophobia in the last 2 years, but I still would prefer not to have the 8-legged freaks crawl on my bike while I'm operating it. Or make webs under my windscreen.
Anyone have good tactics for keeping them at bay?

Don't want spiders or other pests? Attract birds or wasps. Simple as putting up a birdhouse/feeder.

Get the indoor/outdoor kind and spray inside the fairings and inconspicuous areas. Spray some on an old black cloth or rag and sit it on the dash under the windscreen. |

OMG thank you. Everytime I get near my bike, a little spider crawls out from under the back seat. I've killed the bugger 15 times now

They are where food (flying little insects) is abundant.
Eliminate the drafts of air and sources of night light close to your bike.

that reminds me of my shed, where I work on my track bike. except that is home to all sorts of bullshit, not just bigass spider bullshit. I've seen mice running around and a groundhog decided to head on inside while I walked off to grab a drink once imagine my surprise when I set my drink down and get back to removing bolts and **** to take the engine out of the bike and a goddamned groundhog decides to walk up and knock my drink over next to me

these mother****ers are the ones that scare me. I had a run in with them as a kid and let's just say that breaking bones skateboarding was a much more pleasant experience.

This is all great advice. Ill try to start with the easier methods and move my way up if they still stick around haha.

Better out than in. For years my bike has been plagued with mysterious little hard white dots stuck to the paint like fine concrete spatter. I have recently discovered that it is spider turds from the little sods living on the garage ceiling.
Specifically this type Plocidae I put up a notice saying "Don't crap here!" but they just ignore it Meanwhile their hairier brethren build new webs every night between the handlebars and mirror,... slow learners. |

I found a little white ball of something under my taillight. I touched it and about 1000 spiders the size of pin heads ran out of it and all over my bike. I didn't get a picture because I was just a little too busy pissing myself and running. I was about 2 steps from building a homemade flamethrower....
