Coming from Missouri (helmet law state) to Colorado for the summer it kinda blows my mind how few people wear helmets, much less a jacket. I'm glad I stalked these forums and gained a sense of safety before buying a bike.

Both of them could have swerved around that car. The second guy seems to just aim right for it, plus speed was a little high

I don't understand people sometimes. The past few days I have seen nothing but squids.
I was riding home today and there was a guy on a gixxer doing about 95-100 with only a shirt and jeans on, and his shirt was flapping up his chest because of his speed.

This one was out by the US Open in Huntington Beach. And like every other squid, he was revving his engine for no reason while sitting at the stop light.

This one was my favorite. The driver was in jeans and a shirt, the pillion was in shorts and a shirt, and as they were going down Main St. in Huntington, he was revving his overly loud exhaust multiple times just so people would look at him. Squids.

This one was down the street from my house, a guy on a cruise in flip flops, tank top, shorts, and no gloves.

The second one has temporary plates. He tried to make a phone call, helmet on, at a top light. Tried to get a pic of that, but was too slow.

I just got back from Colorado (no helmet law) and I saw just about everything there. Today on the way to the airport, I saw a guy wearing a shirt, pants and dress shoes and that's it. Over the 6 days I was there, I'd say I saw maybe 15% of the riders actually wearing full gear.

OMG! I saw him again! And this time I have proof. I was on a fun cruise with @thisisbenji on Saturday. And guess who we saw... Can Am Tom Cruise in all his magnificent glory.

I wish I had a GoPro or could catch him when I'm a passenger in a car and get a pic. Maybe someday... I can dream!

I finally got a picture of one. Usually I'm on the bike and can't take a picture but this time I was a passenger with lots of time.

Would have been a funny video for sure!

I need to get some nicer boots before I get a GoPro unfortunately.

Finally got a pic of a squid! It was raining hard this morning, so the water must have brought him out. The only gear he had on was a jacket. No gloves, wearing shorts, and plain shoes. While taking this pic a Harley passed in the other direction and he was in a T shirt and shorts.... I cant imagine riding without gear, let alone in the rain!

I can't believe some people ride on the highway with no helmet or earplugs. They must have some bad ringing in their ears after getting off the highway.

So loud! I tried riding with just my helmet and no ear plugs. At 55-60 it was near deafening to me. I had to pull over and put my plugs in.

I never wore more than a half helmet before I got my 300, and I been riding bikes since before I can remember, or so pics an my family tell me. I am seriously contemplating ear plugs. Yea sometimes when your done riding your ears ring or your deaf for a minute or 3

I am an audio engineer, so rely on my hearing to make a living. I couldn't imagine riding without plugs. I have a lot of friends that do; I have converted a few of them to wearing ear plugs. Most of those use 10-15 dB plugs, one uses 23dB. Myself, I stick with the 32dB plugs (the highest possible for disposable plugs). I can't hear most conversational level speaking, but I can hear traffic, emergency vehicles, and horns just fine, while attenuating constant loud noises to a point where it won't damage my hearing, even on hour long rides.

I didn't used to wear them at all, but I now wear them on my commutes (which are an hour each way) and they make a huge difference! I don't wear them around town, but definitely on the longer rides...

why do you need ear plugs with a full face? I used to commute on 95 without a problem. Didn't seem nearly loud enough to need plugs..... the most i have is helmet speakers.... I do work in a loud environment so maybe I'm just accustom to it....
